The Nine of Swords… aka “ándale, sigue pensando en chingaderas at 2:00 in the morning.” 😂⚔️

This is the card of worry, anxiety, fear, sleepless nights and mental anguish, when something is weighing so heavy on your mind that you just can’t turn the thoughts off.

Look at the card.

She’s sitting in bed, head in her hands, with nine swords hanging over her.

But here’s the thing…

Not one sword is actually touching her.

Because Swords are the MIND. 🧠

The overthinking.
The “what if this happens?”
The expecting the worst.
The whole-ass scenarios we create before anything has even happened.

And that’s where the Nine of Swords gets deep.

Sometimes the problem IS real.
The stress IS real.
The fear IS real.

Pero sometimes our thoughts take that s**t and run with it… and now we’re suffering the actual problem plus everything we THINK might happen next.

Basically, our own pi**he director’s cut. 🎬

And that’s why I love this quote for the Nine of Swords:

“El ser humano sufre más por lo que piensa que por lo que realmente ocurre.”

So when this card shows up, ask yourself:

¿Qué está pasando realmente… y qué estoy creando con mis pensamientos?

Because not every thought deserves a seat at your table. 🖤⚔️

🌿 LENGUA DE SUEGRA — You KNOW this plant. 😂

If you grew up Hispanic, especially here in the 956, chances are you’ve seen a Lengua de Suegra sitting somewhere around your mamá’s, abuela’s or tía’s house.

And yes… the name literally means “mother-in-law’s tongue.” 👀😂
People say it comes from the plant’s long, sharp, sword-like leaves — like a tongue that does NOT hold back.

But she wasn’t always there just because she was pretty. 🌿

For generations, plants have been kept around the home not only for practical purposes, but for their spiritual meaning and traditional uses.

🧿 SPIRITUALLY

Lengua de Suegra is commonly associated with protection.

Those strong, upright leaves are believed to symbolically cut through and guard against negative energy, which is why she’s often placed near:

🚪 entrances
🪟 windows
🏡 the front of homes or businesses

Think of her like a little plant guardiana. 🗡️🌿

She is also associated with strength, resilience, and good luck — which makes sense because this plant is HARD to kill. 😂

🌿 MEDICINALLY

Lengua de Suegra has also been used in traditional herbal medicine. The plant contains compounds being studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and early research has looked at its potential to help protect and support kidney function.

⚠️ Traditional use and early research do not mean it is proven to treat kidney disease. Do your research and consult a healthcare professional before using medicinally.

And that is exactly why I love plants. 🌿

Sometimes that plant sitting in Abuela’s yard has a whole damn story behind it. 😂
