LETāS TALK ABOUT IT.
Curl pattern. Texture. Density. Porosity. Elasticity. Hair health.
Everyone loves to call themselves a āspecialist,ā but if you donāt understand how ALL of those variables interact⦠are you really? Sorry boo š¬ Itās a no for me, dog.
A prelightened level 8 with healthy, predictable hair? Easy. Slap the formula on and it can feel like 1 + 1. Itās also why people think they can recreate it at home.
But what happens when you have to retain a curl pattern?
When the cortex is overproteinized?
When they donāt even have a cortex?
When you actually have to understand the chemistry and behavior of the hair and not just color theory?
THATāS where specialization begins.
Iām talking individual hair diagnosis. Understanding projected landing zones. Knowing when to safely play with the rainbow while protecting the integrity of that hair for YEARS.
Why use a pigment disrupter instead of bleach on one client?
Why an alkaline-based filler instead of a toner on another?
WHY are we choosing that chemistry for THAT head of hair?
Thatās the difference between knowing how to do something and understanding WHY it works.
And the cold, hard truth? Calling yourself a specialist is easy. Actually becoming one takes years of education, experience, experimentation, and knowing when NOT to do something.
Your education doesnāt end when you get your license, boo. Keep learning. Study the chemistry, structure, behavior, and individuality of the hair in your chair. Get to know whatās actually in your cabinet and WHY youāre reaching for it.
Because a $100 online course showing someone taking a level 9 to blue isnāt specialization.
Neither is being really good at one predictable canvas.
You need science. Diagnosis. Chemistry. Understanding.
So when I say Iām a Vivid / Blonde Specialist, I mean Iāve spent years learning how to make these services work on more than just the easy heads of hair.
THATāS the difference. š¤
