Story time. ❤️

When I became a mom, I didn’t know a thing about breastfeeding. Then I met Cindy Meale at our local WIC office. She encouraged me to breastfeed my son, and that simple conversation changed the course of my motherhood journey. She’s still at WIC fighting the good fight! ✊🏾

I would go on to breastfeed all five of my children. Every chance I get, I make sure Cindy knows she’s the reason I even tried.

Who would have thought that one woman’s encouragement would spark a love for breastfeeding that would become such a big part of who I am and the work I do today? One conversation, one person believing in you, can truly change everything. ❤️

Out here supporting Mar'Sean's Family Support Center at Teen Moms Matter Day!

Teen moms are probably my favorite population to work with. Too often, people treat pregnancy as if it means they’ve made a mistake and their future is over. I love walking alongside them, reminding them that motherhood is only one part of their story, and supporting them as they pursue their life goals, breastfeeding goals, and healthy relationship goals. Every young mom deserves someone who believes in her. 💕

Being in community with our people is one of our favorite things to do. We believe that love is the antidote—love for ourselves, our families, our babies, and our community.
