Bring on another day of foils, coffee, laughing and sharing stories. Sometimes my job feels like a day of work like they all do, but so often I get to leave feeling more built up from sharing in the lives of my clients. The good, the bad, the celebrations, the “is this normal?” Conversations.

The connections created under a cape, with foils in the hair, music playing and deep conversations. Those are the days that make me remember what this was all about.

If you haven’t tried opening up a business with your friend, so that you get to spend the majority of the week together I highly recommend.

If you told me 15 years ago when we met that we would be working side by side, let alone opening a studio together I am not sure I would have ever believed it.

However if you had the chance to sit in our chairs you have probably seen how two opposite people can fill in the gaps, have heard us say the yin and yang, and if you are the last clients of the night you have seen the delirium hit.

I try to keep the shelves stocked while she switches out the decor seasonally.
I make sure the room stays clean while the fridge is magically restocked
We take our turns playing assistant to the other, depending on the day and we probably all know who kills the spiders.

That is why I don’t cut costs when it comes to my color line. Yes it’s more expensive, however it’s PPD free and there is no competition when it comes to the results.

These are my goals for the studio, to give you a place where you can get so much more than just your hair done. A place where you leave with more energy, where your cup has been filled, where we have taken time to connect, to feel seen and heard.

Blonde hair is only beautiful if it’s healthy.

Main things I consider during your highlight

1. Not placing lightner on hair that has already been lightened
2. Going slow and steady with product (yes you will sit in my chair a little longer)
3. Using a warm towel on your highlights for a light controlled accelerator
4. Using a bond builder in every application to maintain internal integrity of the hair

The best part is that while I am doing everything to ensure the health of your hair, you get to sit back relax and know you’re walking out with strong and healthy strands.

Haircolor always looks better with some dimension in it. Unless you request an all over color specifically I rarely suggest it.

A lot of brunettes are scared of highlights because their past highlights may have been placed on the hairline, looked too chunky, or been too blonde with too much of a contrast. But look at how beautifully these highlights blend against her dark natural color. If you are still scared from your highlights 10 years ago, it may be time to give a second thought.
