Wellness Wednesday, our favorite day!
Today we’re highlighting a simple stretch that almost anyone can do to help the body relax, unwind, and feel better.
🌿 Reclined Angle Pose (Supta Baddha Konasana)
To perform this stretch:
✅ Lie comfortably on your back
✅ Bring the soles of your feet together
✅ Allow your knees to gently fall outward
✅ Relax your arms at your sides
✅ Focus on slow, deep breathing
Hold the position for 2–10 minutes and let gravity do the work.
Benefits of Reclined Angle Pose:
🧘 Opens the hips and inner thighs
🧘 Promotes deeper breathing by opening the chest
🧘 Encourages relaxation and stress relief
🧘 Helps calm the nervous system
🧘 May reduce tension in the lower back and pelvic region
🧘 Supports healthy circulation by encouraging blood flow throughout the body
🧘 May aid digestion by helping the body relax and reducing abdominal tension
🧘 Supports mindfulness, recovery, and overall well-being
Want even more comfort?
Place pillows, yoga blocks, or bolsters underneath your knees for support. This can reduce strain on the hips and allow you to comfortably hold the stretch longer while encouraging deeper relaxation.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your health is simply lie down, open up, and breathe.

Muscle Monday – Scalp series
This is the perfect finale to the series:
Galea Aponeurotica
The Connective Tissue That Ties the Scalp Together
Most people think headaches and scalp tension come from muscles alone, but the Galea Aponeurotica plays a major role.
The Galea Aponeurotica is a thick, fibrous sheet of connective tissue that covers the top of the skull. It connects the Frontalis muscle in the forehead to the Occipitalis muscle at the back of the scalp, allowing them to work together as a functional unit.
Why It Matters
Because the Galea connects the front and back of the scalp, tension in one area can be transmitted across the entire head.
Restrictions in this tissue may contribute to:
• Tension headaches
• Forehead tightness
• Scalp tenderness
• A feeling of pressure across the head
• Stress-related tension patterns
The Missing Link
Over the past three weeks we’ve discussed:
✅ Occipitofrontalis
✅ Temporalis
✅ Occipitalis
The Galea Aponeurotica is the structure that helps tie much of this system together.
When the muscles of the scalp become tight, the Galea can also become restricted, affecting movement and contributing to tension patterns throughout the head and neck.
How to Support It
• Scalp massage
• Stress management
• Hydration
• Regular movement
• Good posture
• Massage therapy
Small structure. Big impact.
Sometimes the source of tension isn’t just a muscle—it’s the connective tissue linking everything together.

Wellness Wednesday, our favorite day!
On this beautiful June morning, let’s talk about one of the best things we can do for our health: spending time in nature.
Whether it’s a walk through the redwoods, a hike on a favorite trail, a visit to the beach, or simply sitting in a local park, time spent outdoors can have a powerful effect on both the body and mind.
Research has shown that spending time in nature may help:
🌲 Reduce stress and anxiety
🌲 Lower blood pressure and heart rate
🌲 Improve mood and mental clarity
🌲 Encourage physical activity
🌲 Support better sleep
🌲 Increase feelings of calm and well-being
The sights, sounds, and fresh air of natural environments help give our busy minds a chance to slow down and reset.
Living here in California, we’re fortunate to have incredible access to beaches, redwood forests, hiking trails, open spaces, and beautiful parks. Taking even a short break outdoors can help recharge both body and mind.
This week, challenge yourself to spend a little extra time outside. Take a walk beneath the trees, listen to the ocean waves, or explore a trail you’ve never visited before.
Sometimes the best therapy is simply nature doing what nature does best.
