This is the text that made our whole week. 🥹❤️
“I just wanted to thank you and tell you how completely THRILLED we are with our new FLOCO pool area. The transformation is unbelievable. The colors are perfection.”
And then the line we are still not over:
“If you ever need to show a potential customer your product, don’t even hesitate, just bring them here.”
About those colors, because they are the whole trick. It is a custom blend, crafted to match the coping she already had. We mixed it against that stone so the surface and the coping read as one piece, instead of two materials meeting at a line. That is the entire reason it looks like it was always meant to be there. Nothing here came off a chart.
Then the turtle, hand crafted straight into the surface, in teals
that carry the water behind the house. Every colour in that shell is rubber, packed in by hand while the surface cured. Nothing sits on top of a FLOCO surface, so there is nothing to peel, chip or lift.
The line we are quietest about but proudest of is the one about our crew. “The prep guys and installation guys were awesome and represented the company in the best way.”
She named the prep guys first. Almost nobody does, because their work disappears under everything else. She noticed.
Non slip wet or dry. Seamless edge to edge. And it does not get nearly as hot as the concrete that was there before.
If you want one you would show off too, send us a DM. We will come take a look.
👀 Guilty as charged…

Three years old. Already crumbling. 😳 This is why we say it ALL. THE. TIME: not all rubber surfacing is created- or installed- equally.
The material matters. The prep matters. The binder matters. And the person holding the trowel REALLY matters.
Rubber surfacing is a craft. Done right, it’s built to last. Done cheap? Well… you’re looking at it.
Know what you’re paying for. Know who’s installing it.

A little FLOCO flashback with SW FLORIDA REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY because this transformation deserves another moment. 🌊☀️
We got the call after this splash pad had already been surfaced once… and it just wasn’t right. The wrong material for the project, poor installation, and a finished surface that was nowhere near what a space made for families should be.
So we came in and FLOCOFIED it. 💙
We removed the failing EPDM surface and transformed the entire splash pad into a stunning, beach-inspired oasis — cushioned under little feet, comfortable barefoot, slip-resistant, permeable and made for endless days of running, splashing & playing.
From a project that needed saving → to a space families can actually LOVE. 🥹
This is why the material matters.
This is why the installation matters.
And this is why we do what we do.
One of our favorite transformations to date. 🌴🌊

Todd and Carla priced out multiple systems before they called us. They had just retrofitted their pool here in Venice and wanted a surface that lived up to it. What they told us afterward: both crews, the prep crew and the install crew, had good leaders, were polite, and did great work.
And the floor itself? “It exceeded our expectations. It’s beautiful.”
That’s the whole job right there. Answer the questions, show up when you say you will, and do the work right.
Thinking about your pool deck? We’ll come take a look and give you a real number. Free quotes, always. 🦩
Just one of those days….

Rubber surfacing fails for two reasons. Neither one of them is
bad luck. The first is what is underneath it. The second is what it is actually made of.
We get called out constantly to fix other companies’ work. Puddles that never move. Edges lifting at the drains. Cracks coming straight up through a surface that is barely a year old. Every time, it is the same story underneath. Nobody corrected the base.
Here is the part the industry does not love to say out loud.
Rubber is flexible. Concrete is not. When the two disagree, the
rubber is the one that shows it. It does not hide what is under
it, it reveals it.
And then there is the material itself. There is a lot of cheap
rubber out there, and on day one it looks exactly like the good
stuff. Coated granules with the colour sprayed on the outside.
Bulk filler that breaks down early. Florida is what tells the
truth, usually about eighteen months in, when the colour starts
going blotchy where the sun hits hardest. Flawless prep under
the wrong material still fails. It just takes a little longer
to show.
So we built our whole process backwards from that. There is a
team here whose entire job is evaluating and correcting surfaces before anybody pours anything. Slope. Drains. Low spots. Sunken pavers. Cracks and expansion joints. Sometimes that takes longer than the install itself, and that is on purpose.
If you are collecting quotes right now, save slide 8. Ask every
single company two questions: what does your prep process look like, and what rubber are you actually installing? Vague answers are still answers.
Full breakdown is on the blog. Link in bio.
Poor Cayden 😂
