Their loss was immense.

In less than a week, the herbal communityhas helped Oshala reach 90% of their $300,000 rebuilding goal.

Yesterday afternoon, a fire broke out at Oshala Farm, one of our longtime herb farmers and a treasured part of our extended community.

Thanks to the swift action of the Oshala team, all people and pets made it to safety. But the fire destroyed nearly everything else: their dryer barn, storage barn, secondary dryer, employee area, mechanic shop, coolers, processing equipment, tools, and hundreds of thousands of pounds of herbs.
For more than thirteen years, Elise, Jeff, and the Oshala team have grown beautiful medicinal plants with devotion, skill, and deep care for the land. Their farm is home to nearly 40 full-time year-round employees, with another 20 seasonal workers joining them during the harvest season. Many have been with Oshala for over a decade.

The fields are still full of herbs. Much of the farm equipment was saved. And the Oshala team has already made the decision to rebuild.
But they need help now.

Their immediate hope is to rebuild drying and processing facilities, replace essential equipment, keep their team working, and save as much of this year’s harvest as possible.
