Why do I see so many posts about “killing bacteria”?
I feel the need to clarify that bacteria should not be killed, but balanced instead. Below, I briefly explain what they are, why they become imbalanced, what happens when this occurs, and how we can restore their balance naturally.
Bacteria are not enemies: they are part of our organism
Our body hosts millions of bacteria, and most live in perfect symbiosis with us. They can be classified into three types:
Beneficial bacteria – protect our body, aid digestion, produce vitamins, and strengthen our immune system.
Opportunistic bacteria – usually harmless, but can overgrow if the balance is disrupted.
Pathogenic bacteria – can cause problems when they multiply out of control.
More than 95% of our bacteria live in the gastrointestinal system, especially in the intestines.
Balance is the key
When our microbiome becomes imbalanced, opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria increase in number and may create problems. It is not about killing them, but restoring balance.
Causes of imbalance:
Poor eating habits: low-nutrient diets, ultra-processed foods, fast food such as kebabs, burgers, pizzas, excess refined flours and carbohydrates.
Use of antibiotics that destroy beneficial bacteria.
Stress, toxins, and unhealthy lifestyle habits.
Consequences of dysbiosis:
Gastrointestinal problems: bloating, cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.
Increased intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”), which over time allows toxins to enter the bloodstream.
Inflammation in joints and throughout the body.
Alterations in the gut–brain axis (vagus nerve): depression, anxiety, and mood changes due to insufficient serotonin.
General imbalance of the organism.
How to restore your microbiome
Detoxification and parasite cleansing: remove toxins and parasites that disrupt balance.
Replenish intestinal flora: with prebiotics and probiotics to repopulate beneficial bacteria.
Digestive support: take digestive enzymes to help process food properly.
Maintaining a balanced microbiome is key for digestive health, overall well-being, and immunity.
If you experience these kinds of problems, have not found effective solutions, and want a natural, gentle, and deep restoration, write to me!
