Kind of chick who loves being around other women who do what I do instead of treating everybody like competition.

Kind of chick who walked into rooms feeling like the Black Barbie in the room… and eventually realized that being noticeably myself was never the problem.

And now I’m the kind of chick who gets to teach.

That part means the most.

Because I really believe the future of this industry is attainable for the people willing to learn, work, ask questions, mess up, try again and keep going.

I can laugh at myself all day.

But the things I believe in?
Community. Education. Generosity. Opportunity. Being yourself. Making room for other people.
