Vivid colors have a reputation for being a lot of work to maintain. We have circumvented that as I retail in pink to keep her pink fresh in between her visits. When she comes in, I just bleach lighten her roots, wash dry, then apply the foundation pink. Instead of just having to wear faded out color between her root maintenance every 8 weeks, she can easily and affordably refresh it whenever she wants. Because it is a shampoo for color(not a cleansing shampoo) it deposits the color in the hair immediately in the shower, and what staining seems to be on your hands or in the shower comes off easily after the conditioning component. Using a quality conditioner, like Redkinās conditioner as the color shampoo can be somewhat drying Itās a cost-effective way of maintaining vivid hair. The service is $300 for her and she comes every 8 weeks. She also has considerably more hair than most people and this service requires 2 full head blow driesā¦1 to wash out the bleach lightener, as the product I use in the salon to make sure I donāt miss any spots is applied to dry hair. True color corrections are a masterclass in patience, science, color theory, and hair biology. They take a minuteāthe exact timeline depends on how many layers of color are on the hair and how dense the overall hair is.
However, a total transformation can safely happen in one dedicated session.
I recommend meeting with a few different stylists to discuss to garner an array of understanding your options. A client has every right to understand the chemical process. If a stylist truly understands the science, they can easily explain it to a consumer.

Some color corrections are relatively simple. I went in with a heavy highlight, left lightener on long enough to lighten up beyond the orange, making easy work for a subtle shifting pearl toner. Her shadow root is her natural hair. So much nicer for her. Good Hair. Happy Life. Competent color correction. Happy Client.
