It’s 70 degrees, the sun is shining, plants are out, clients are here… it’s a good day🌞

We are starting to feel a layer of confidence inside, that comes from age. A different knowing of ourselves. This beautiful settling into our own skin. And just as that’s happening, our appearance begins to shift. Wrinkles, grey hair, soft skin, droopy eyes, and we see something different in the mirror. And the noise of the world tells us what we should do about it, and chaos begins to arise again.
When we sit in that hair chair, it heightens. I am witness to this, all. day. long.
I am going to turn 40 this year, and quite honestly, I’ve never felt better (internally). Yet that mirror is changing. And after some workdays, after hearing individual versions of this story, I really think how hard we ALL are on ourselves. When I look at other women, I don’t see those things like they see, so why do we judge ourselves so hard? None of these things affects how we view each other, how we really see someone, for who they truly are. So why do it to ourself??
I guess all this is to say, let’s cheer each other up! Let’s root for one another! Let’s say you look beautiful more often! Let’s all search for that confidence inside. Let’s say f*** it to the “shoulds” and love ourselves a bit more.
Let’s view age as a privilege. A reminder of this gift we are all experiencing.

This week’s theme in here has been the weather, and bangs. I think the winter blues are setting in, and sometimes that results in picking up the scissors at home😊 (Good thing is, I love a good bang, and a fun little challenge of fixing things)… BUT before you cut your own bangs, here are a few things to think about prior😊

*What does your morning routine realistically look like? (bangs will take a little daily maintenance.)
*Am I ok with trims more consistently? (they like to be the perfect length)
*How does my hair air dry? Am I willing to use a hair dryer and or styling tools?
*Do I sweat often around my hairline?
*How does my hair react to humidity? (now is a great time for bangs)
*Do I wear my hair up often? Will my bangs annoy me if I do? Am I ok with pinning them back if necessary?
*Do I like to wear hats, beanies, even sunglasses?
*Do I tend to touch my face often? Will something touching your face bug you?

This is not to discourage you, just food for thought, and to save you from a 911 to me;)

So the question is, who do you want to be? How do you want to present yourself? What is the next version of you?

Jade. Though she is unable to be here a lot, she is still very much with us. and I started Jae space in the beginning of 2021. Post COVID and newborns. We would come in here and paint and design with the babies beside us. I’m very thankful for that time together. She taught me so much about motherhood and helped me grately through that period. I took over a couple years ago as she continued to grow her family, and our paths were taking us in different directions, but we are grateful for the times she is able to be with us. This whole Jae space family has been through a lot together, growing up together in a sense. And as all of our relationships continue to shift, there are moments that will stay present in our minds- and opening this space with her is one of them. Thanks Jade:) ❤️
