Life between two flags

Some women don’t even need a man to be their provider. Sometimes, all we need is someone who supports our dreams, our goals, and the future we’re trying to build. ❤️

At first, my husband didn’t want me to work, especially if the job only paid $15 an hour. He told me, “Find a job that pays enough to cover a babysitter and still leaves you with money to take home. If you’re making $15 an hour but paying a babysitter $20 an hour, you might as well stay home.”he said ill pay you why you need money for he didn’t really understand i just want my own money from my own hard earned.

But he had a point!

So I found a job paying $20 an hour. But eventually, I wanted more for myself and my future.

Last year, I started working at Amazon as a regular associate, making $20 an hour plus benefits. I get $2 extra cos of night shift I thought, why not give it a try?

After three months, I became a Learning Ambassador, and after five months, I got promoted to Process Assistant (PA), making $25 an hour plus an additional $1.50 for working night shifts!

My husband was so proud of me. ❤️

Now, I pay my own bills, childcare, and school expenses, and whatever is left goes straight into my own pocket. But here’s the thing: My husband has never stopped being a provider just because I started making my own money.

He still makes sure we have food on the table, even when he’s not home. He takes care of the groceries and household expenses and has never expected me to pay for them.

Recently, since Skyler is now in school and we don’t spend as much on babysitting, I insisted on helping with the water and electricity bills. Why not? We’re a team, and I want to contribute too.

And it’s not just about money. It’s about how we support each other every single day.

I work night shifts and get home around 10 AM. My husband knows I’m exhausted, so he lets me sleep. He takes Skyler to school in the morning and picks him up in the afternoon while I’m resting.

When my husband gets home, it’s my turn to take care of Skyler so he can relax or take care of his business. By 9PM, I’m getting myself ready for another shift at 10 PM.

And then we do it all over again!

It’s not always easy. We’re both tired, we both have responsibilities, and we’re both making sacrifices. But we make it work because we support each other.

Ladies, especially while you’re young, never stop building a better future for yourself.

Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you have to give up your dreams, your education, or your career. You can be a wife, a mother, and still be a woman with goals and ambitions of your own.

A good marriage isn’t about one person giving up everything for the other. It’s about growing together, supporting each other’s dreams, and building a future as a team.

I’m grateful to have a husband who supports my ambitions, celebrates my accomplishments, and helps me become the woman I want to be.

Marriage should never be the end of your dreams. With the right partner, it can be another reason to keep chasing them. ❤️
