I’m Jennie, the witch, hairstylist, tarot reader, educator, and creative human behind HEX&HAIR. I’ve built my business around the idea that beauty, self-expression, spirituality, and community don’t have to exist in separate little boxes. You can have the vivid hair, pull the tarot cards, take up space, reinvent yourself, and build a life that actually feels like you.

Watching this little corner of the internet grow has meant more to me than I can properly put into words. Every follow, comment, share, appointment, reading, class signup, event visit, and person who tells a friend about me helps this weird little dream keep becoming something bigger. 🥹

Being a business owner means doing a lot of things that once made me deeply uncomfortable.

Putting my face on the internet.
Talking about the things I’ve created like I’m proud of them.
Calling myself a witch out loud.
Teaching what I know.
Sharing what I believe.
Promoting my own work.
Admitting that yes, I want to be seen. I want to be heard. I want the things I create to reach people.

There’s something incredibly vulnerable about taking up space on purpose.

But every time I’ve wondered if I’m being too loud, too visible, too weird, too much, someone has messaged me to say, “I needed this,” or “I didn’t know there were other people like me,” or “you made me brave enough to try.”

And suddenly the cringe feels pretty damn small.

So here’s your permission slip from one person figuring it out in public to another: make the post. Start the business. Talk about the thing you love. Be a witch out loud. Let yourself want an audience. Let yourself take up space.

And while you’re receiving that blessing, please enjoy it over the backdrop of this stunning dimensional copper I created last night. 🧡🔥 She started as a completely natural, virgin level 6, and one of the things bringing me joy was creating all of this dimension with color only, no lightener. (Thanks to Danger Jones International Epilogue color)

I used a level 5 at the root for richness and depth, then alternated levels 7 and 9 through the mids and ends to create those naturally dimensional ribbons of deeper copper, bright ginger, and golden warmth. Basically letting different levels do the highlighting instead of lightener, and i’m OBSESSED with how much movement it gave the color.

Did i remember to take before photos or get content of the process? Absolutely not, because it was a late night appointment where redbull was the 40 Vol energy that carried us through. 😂 But fortunately, i remembered after photos.
