Herbs Did It First 🌿

Long before medicine came in bottles, tablets, and prescriptions, people turned to the natural world for healing.

Willow bark for pain. Valerian for rest and relaxation. St. John’s wort for emotional well-being. Red yeast rice for supporting healthy cholesterol. Goat’s rue has a long history of traditional use, while foxglove became famous for its powerful effects on the heart.

These weren’t simply primitive substitutes waiting for something “better” to come along. They were part of sophisticated traditions of herbal medicine built through generations of observation and experience.

Plants contain remarkably complex chemistry, and humanity has been learning how to work with that chemistry for thousands of years.

Herbalism isn’t about pretending every plant is harmless or that an herb is identical to a modern drug. Some herbs are extremely powerful and deserve just as much respect and knowledge as anything in a medicine cabinet.

The point is much simpler: nature was providing medicine long before we started putting it in a laboratory.

Sometimes it’s worth remembering where the story began.

Energy Update: September 25, 2026

Today may feel a little more sensitive, intuitive, and emotionally layered than usual. The energy is not necessarily asking you to figure everything out right away. It is asking you to notice what you are feeling beneath the surface and give yourself a little room to process it.

As we move toward tomorrow’s Full Moon, there can be a sense that something is building. Thoughts, emotions, creative ideas, or even frustrations that have been quietly gathering may become harder to ignore. Instead of pushing them away or judging yourself for having them, try getting curious. There may be something important underneath the noise.

This is a good day for slowing down enough to hear your own inner voice. Rest if you need rest. Create if you need an outlet. Write it down, take a walk, spend time near water, listen to music, clean your space, or allow yourself a few quiet minutes without needing to be productive.

Be mindful of taking on everyone else’s energy today. Compassion is beautiful, but you do not have to carry what does not belong to you. You can care deeply while still protecting your peace.

A helpful question for today: What am I feeling that needs gentleness instead of fixing?

Let today be about trusting your instincts, honoring your limits, and making space for what is asking to be acknowledged. You do not need to have all the answers yet. Sometimes clarity arrives after you allow yourself to simply feel.

Today’s waxing Pisces Moon can heighten intuition and emotional awareness as the energy builds toward the September 26 Full Moon.

We often talk about fatigue as if it's one thing. It's not.

We often talk about fatigue as if it's one thing.

It's not.

Your cells need to produce ATP—the energy currency used to power cellular work.

CoQ10 participates in the mitochondrial electron transport chain.

That makes it biologically interesting when we're talking about cellular energy.

But here's where social media usually goes off the rails:

“You're tired → take CoQ10.”

No.

Fatigue has dozens of potential contributors.

Iron deficiency. Thyroid dysfunction. Sleep problems. Metabolic dysfunction.

Inflammation. Nutrient deficiencies. Medications. Psychological stress. And more.

CoQ10 is one piece of the puzzle.

And even in statin-associated muscle symptoms, research remains mixed rather than definitive.

That's why I care more about why someone is depleted or struggling than simply handing them a supplement.

Good info everyone should be aware of ..

Not sure about all of these. What do you think?

The enemy uses chaos and temptation.

The enemy uses chaos and temptation.

But he also uses convenience.

He’ll keep you inflamed, distracted, and depleted just long enough that you stop hearing God clearly…and stop caring that you don’t.

Here’s the truth we so often miss: Our spiritual strength is deeply impacted by our physical habits.

👉 When we set aside our phone and pick up Scripture instead, we’re saying “no” to distraction, and “yes” to presence with the Lord.
👉 When we take the time to cook a meal...even with the mess, the effort, the extra steps...we’re choosing to honor the body we’ve been entrusted with.
👉 When we prioritize sleep and rest over late-night scrolling, we allow our nervous system to reset, our minds to think clearly, and our spirit to be renewed.

The physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of healing are deeply connected.

And we’ve been called to care for each one.

Dry fasting, also known as absolute fasting, is a technique that involves abstaining from all food and liquids.

Dry fasting, also known as absolute fasting, is a technique that involves abstaining from all food and liquids.

It has many potential benefits, including:
-It can help regulate blood sugar.
-It can help burn fat.
-It can help support liver function.
-It can help reduce inflammation.

If you’re new to fasting, experiment with intermittent dry fasting for a few hours and pay attention to how your body reacts.

Note how you feel after your first few fasting sessions, and once you get comfortable, transition into a 12-hour or 14-hour dry fasting period.

Then, when you break your fast, drink plenty of liquids. Kefir and bone broth are good choices!

Selenium is also worth exploring ..

A clinical report published in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications by Lockwood, Moesgaard, and Folkers followed 32 women with high-risk breast cancer who received a nutritional treatment that included antioxidants, fatty acids, and 90 mg of CoQ10 daily.

Six of the 32 patients experienced partial tumor regression. In one of these patients, researchers increased CoQ10 to 390 mg/day. After one month, her breast tumor was no longer palpable, and after another month, mammography reportedly showed no detectable tumor.

The researchers also described another patient who had undergone non-radical breast surgery but still had confirmed residual tumor tissue.

She received 300 mg of CoQ10 daily, and after 3 months, the authors reported that she was in excellent clinical condition and no residual tumor tissue was detected. These findings came from individual cases within a small, uncontrolled clinical report, and the patients received other nutritional treatments alongside CoQ10, so the study cannot establish that CoQ10 caused the tumor regression or that CoQ10 is an effective breast-cancer treatment.

Energy Update: September 23, 2026

Today carries the feeling of a quiet reset. Now that we have crossed into the new season, there may be a natural urge to look around, both inwardly and outwardly, and decide what truly belongs in the chapter ahead. You do not need to reinvent everything at once. Small, honest adjustments can create meaningful change.

The energy today supports clearing away excess: too many obligations, too much mental noise, unfinished worries, or old expectations that no longer match who you are becoming. Pay attention to what feels heavy simply because you have been carrying it for a long time. Not everything needs to come with you.

There is also a gentle reminder to tend to your own foundation. Eat something nourishing, drink water, step outside for a few minutes, straighten one small space, or give yourself permission to move at a slower pace. These simple acts can help your nervous system settle and make it easier to hear your own inner guidance.

A helpful question for today: What can I release so I have more room for what supports me now?

Let this be a day of choosing steadiness over urgency. Your path does not need to be perfectly clear for you to take one grounded step forward.
