Wash hair with me while I share everything I went through during cosmetology school.

This journey was about so much more than learning hair.

I started cosmetology school as a full-time mom of two while running my business. During school, I was in the middle of a custody battle that eventually led to a 50/50 custody schedule, and I had to learn how to balance motherhood, work, and school all over again.

When my childcare situation changed, I switched from the evening program to the morning program just to stay enrolled.

Then my car broke down for months, so I spent hundreds of dollars on Ubers and Lyfts getting to school and work because quitting wasn’t an option.

I faced financial setbacks, a SAP appeal, slow weeks in business, and plenty of moments where I questioned myself.

Most days were school, clients, picking up my boys, making dinner, answering client messages, and doing it all again the next day.

The truth is… I am exhausted.

But I kept showing up.

I also continued investing in myself by earning my K-Tip Extension Certification, Traditional Sew-In Certification, Japanese Head Spa Certification, and even had the opportunity to teach a braiding class with KBI Institute while I was still a student.

I wasn’t just earning hours—I was building a career, a business, and a future for my boys.

So when I walk across that stage, I’m not just celebrating graduation. I’m celebrating every sacrifice, every setback, and every version of me that refused to quit.

Graduation is just the beginning. 🤍
