Kristies Hair Design

As a shampoo assistant, you will work under a hairstylist and perform shampooing services on clients. At least one year of experience as a shampoo assistant is required. Duties include preparing shampoos and products, setting up the shampooing area, shampooing hair, applying conditioner, blow-drying, and you must know how to braid for a weave.

Responsibilities may also include salon assistant roles, such as reception and cleaning duties. Also, you must be vaccinated and will have to wear a mask while working with customers.

Calvin Ball We truly appreciate your partially lifting the emergency ban for Howard County Salons and Barbers. However, the mandate of only one customer per location at a time only adds to the difficulty of us staying in business. Most salon and barber establishments have more than one barber/stylist. As a result, there is no way to capture the economies of scale needed to survive with only 1 customer at a time. If we were able to service one customer PER barber/stylist, while continuing to observe the social distancing guidance and other required protocols we could at least have a fighting chance. Otherwise, with the restricted, partial opening our landlords will be expecting Rent In Full and we won't have nearly enough revenue to pay it. I ask you to please reconsider revising the restrictions for Barber shops and Salons to allow one client per barber/stylist.

Although Governor Larry Hogan has lifted the State of Emergency for the “state” of Maryland effective on May 15, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has NOT lifted the ban on non-essential businesses in Howard County. As a result, Kristie’s Hair Salon will remain closed until the restrictions are lifted. Please check our page regularly for updates and information regarding our reopening date and time.
