Restalgic Atelier

Today we filmed for the TV show Start Up featured on PBS, and honestly, it was one of the most refreshing experiences I’ve had. For the first time, I got to share my real story! The humble beginnings, the risks we took, and the scary moments you usually only hear about on TV as an entrepreneur.

I’m beyond grateful for the support system around me. Having Councilman Nick Bankston be part of this, my mentor Kim Knights by my side, and seeing my partner featured… that was the true highlight.

We’ve come a long way, and this is just the beginning. Stay tuned! We’re planning a watch party this September!!

I remember telling my mom I would never do upholstery again 😅 and she hit me with that classic “don’t say never.”

Fast forward, and here I am creating two custom art pieces! blending pottery with Karnaghan sweaters.. something I never saw coming. Then my cousin David pulls up with this chair, talking about disciples, legacy, and “keys to black wealth”… and somehow everything just clicked.

Even crazier? These pieces ended up in the hands of the General Manager of Cadillac. Still processing that one.

Moral of the story… watch what you say 😂 you just might circle right back to it, but on a whole different level.

This man right here is the one behind the scenes making sure everything flows the way it’s supposed to. The details, the structure, the steady presence! He holds it all down in ways people don’t always see. And truthfully, Restalgic wouldn’t be what it is without him. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to help bring this vision to life.

This one-on-one wheel throwing session was something special. She came in excited! and left even more inspired, already talking about joining our 4-week course.
