Please consider donating to help a very special family out. Sam’s cousin and one of our dearest friends, lost her father unexpectedly this week. She and her 3 children are some of the best people we know. Jerry has many connections to Westerville and was a exemplary teacher, coach and father. Also if you feel comfortable, please share this link. Thank you ♥️

I need to shine a spotlight on this amazing woman that I have known for years. Just recently she started massage school. I, like most everyone, needed a massage therapist desperately. Some of you know that I have been struggling with a recent diagnosis of RA. It has been a very hard and scary journey. I had been told for years that massage could really help. Honestly I have been skeptical. But I know Amber, feel comfortable around her and I love supporting people I trust and love. So all of that made it a no brainer. Plus, while she is still in school, her prices for massage are so unbelievably reasonable, why wouldn’t I try it? I committed to going once a week for a 100 minute massage. I have been doing it now for about a month and a half. I have had other massages in the past, and they always feel good, but do they actually make a lasting difference in my day to day life after? I have never had that experience. It’s nice when it happens, but afterwards nothing really changes, so it has always just felt like a luxury, not a necessity. I am a firm believer in its healing ability now. I have had so much relief in just a little amount of time, AND she is still learning! She is a natural, seriously. I have learned from this process that true restorative massage comes from a partnership with your therapist. It’s not always not just zen, quiet and relaxing-although it can be that too-it is a conversation. A conversation with your body and someone learning your body and its particular issues and you voicing how it feels. Amber has made a marked difference in my life and body in such a short time, I want to tell everyone! If you are nervous about massage (it is a very vulnerable thing to be touched, especially when you are at least partially unrobed), if it has felt too expensive or like an unnecessary luxury, I challenge you to give it one try. She is kind and gentle, body affirming and a person who loves everyone. She is wise, funny, insightful. She is one of the least judgmental people I have ever met. She has availability on days, evenings and weekends. Her prices are amazing while in school. Text her anytime to set something up. 614-330-4137

We have all the plants! I have just recently become a lover of indoor plants. I have always been intimidated about caring for them-I have definitely murdered a few in the past. My friend Dennis introduced me to low maintenance foliage! He and his business partner run a local greenhouse, Bartrop. I asked him why should people buy from them as opposed to just going to Lowe’s or Home Depot or a nursery. He quickly answered that you are guaranteed to get a healthier plant than you would elsewhere and at a much lower price. He then added that they care for all of their plants individually, making sure they are in the proper humidity/temperature environment. Home improvement stores often group plants together that need totally different care, and employees aren’t trained to care for them individually. So some plants get too much water or sun, which can affect how your plant grows and survives. Bartrop picks the perfect soil for each plant and here is where I think they have a huge edge. All of the plants they sell, they are committed to helping you care for them best. If one of their plants is struggling after you get it home, you can contact them and ask for help. That is something that probably would have pushed me into indoor plants a long time ago! Being able to email and say something like, “Hey, the leaves on this plant are turning a little yellow, what does that mean?” and then get help based on that particular plant. I think that is what really sets them apart and may end up reforming more anti-planters like my former self. I have been changed!! I love all the plants! Bartrop also carries some rare exotic plants for the more experienced plant enthusiasts. Stop in and pick one up or visit their website and see all that they have to offer.

Meet Beachy & Beachy Bracelet Co. This local mother/daughter duo started creating these beautiful bracelets a few years ago. I have been dying to carry them at the salon. They are delicate, can be worn dressed up or down, and one of my favorite parts is the clasp is magnetic-so they are so easy to take on and off. I had a client come in and said she has been looking for a good bracelet for years and she finally found it! I have one that can be worn with anything. I decided to use my dogs head to advertise it, cause cute sells more than my wrist 😂. I have known Natalie and Suzanne for years and this is a super special time for Natalie cause she just graduated college!! I am so proud of her!! Stop in and check these bracelets out. They can even make custom bracelets for those looking for certain color combos. And most of the bracelets they make are only $15! As always, we love supporting local and we love supporting women run businesses.

A huge shout out to https://www.fibrenew.com/nwcolumbus/

These dryer chairs are my favorite thing in our salon. They have been here for 50 some odd years. Because of their age, there was no way to match up the vinyl exactly, but Phil picked out a perfect compliment to them and restored them beautifully. Thank you so much!!
