Two non intoxicating compounds from cannabis just showed unexpected promise against one of the world's most rapidly rising diseases.

Researchers found that CBD and CBG may help fight fatty liver disease by increasing the liver's energy stores and restoring its cellular clean-up systems.

Fatty liver disease affects about 1 in 4 adults worldwide. It happens when fat builds up in liver cells, causing inflammation, scarring, and eventually liver failure. There is currently no approved drug
treatment.

In the study, both CBD and CBG improved the liver's ability to process fat and triggered autophagy, the cell's natural recycling system that clears damaged components.

Importantly, neither compound caused the psychoactive "high" linked to THC. These are the same compounds already found in many wellness products.

This is still early stage research and not a recommendation to self treat. But the findings are promising enough that clinical trials may come next. The liver may have an unexpected supporter.

None of us thought this would happen in Ohio but here we are. A loophole in the Farm Bill brought a lot of attention to not only Cbd, but also Thc. I see this a victory for the plant and it awareness with the public. All the little old ladies and hurting people that have found help with these products will not be lost. Although we have to shift the way we do things at the Depot, we will continue to be here to educate and provide COMPLIANT products for our beloved customers.
