Fair Elections Ohio is a state political action committee that operates as a grassroots organization founded to protect Ohio's electoral process from bureaucratic measures that may result in voter suppression. ile more than 231,154 signatures by September 29, 2011 to stop House Bill 194 from becoming law until voters have a chance to approve or reject it. This will allow current law to continue in effect from the date signatures are filed until after a vote is taken on the law at the November 2012 election. HB 194 cuts absentee voting by mail by two weeks, shortens in-person early voting to 14 days with no evening, Saturday afternoon or Sunday voting, allows poll workers not to tell a voter if they are in the wrong precinct and if their vote won't count, shrinks the types of voter ID that can be used to vote and cuts the 10-day period after an election that lets voters verify provisional ballots so they can be counted. Ohioans deserve a fair election system that promotes participation and voting for all who are eligible in a system without confusion, exclusion or delay.
