You might be eating more fiber to help constipation… but forgetting one important piece. 💧

Water.

Most people aren't getting nearly enough fiber in their diets, so increasing fiber can be an important step toward better digestion and regular bowel movements.

Fiber adds bulk to stool and helps support its movement through the digestive tract.

But here's the part that's easy to overlook:

When you increase your fiber, you also need to increase your hydration.

💧 Water helps keep stool softer and easier to pass. Without enough fluid, that added fiber can leave you feeling more bloated, uncomfortable, or even more constipated.

So if you're adding more fiber to your diet, don't forget to add more water, too.

Fiber + hydration = a better combination for keeping things moving. 💚

We often think of constipation as simply a digestive issue.

But your colon also plays a role in how your body processes and eliminates hormones—especially estrogen.

Here’s where it gets interesting. 👇

Estrogen is processed by the liver and sent into the digestive tract for elimination. Your gut bacteria help determine how much estrogen is reactivated and reabsorbed back into circulation.

So when your gut microbiome, digestion, and elimination aren't functioning well, it can influence this hormone-gut connection.

And hormones affect the gut, too.

Changes in estrogen and progesterone can influence intestinal motility, which is one reason some women notice changes in bowel habits around their menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or menopause.

It’s a two-way relationship:
Hormones can affect your gut.
Your gut can influence hormone metabolism.

That’s why taking care of your digestive health is about more than just having a bowel movement.

It’s part of the bigger picture of whole-body wellness. 🌿

Your gut is connected to more than you think.

Spinal Flow is such an amazing therapy, and the gentle approach is truly incredible. I saw Denise when I was dealing with back pain from a strain, and I was amazed by how easy and relaxing the session was, along with the results I experienced afterward.

If you’ve never experienced Spinal Flow, I highly recommend learning more about it and giving it a try for yourself! ❤️

Your digestive system is a creature of habit. It responds to patterns and routines, and those routines can help support healthy bowel function.

Eating meals at fairly regular times, getting consistent sleep, moving your body, and responding to your body's natural signals can all help keep your digestive system on track.

This doesn't mean every day has to look exactly the same. Life happens. Travel, weekends, busy schedules, and special occasions can all change our routines.

It's about giving your body a general rhythm it can rely on.

🥗 Regular meals
😴 Consistent sleep
🚶 Regular movement
🚽 Listening to your body's urge to go
🧘 Making time to slow down

You don't have to be perfect. Small, consistent habits can make a big difference.

💬 Which part of your daily routine do you find hardest to keep consistent?

👉 Sometimes, relief can be noticeable after just one session.

I've had clients come in feeling "bloated and tight in their pants"—and leave saying, “My pants feel loose!” 🤩

For some, that feeling of fullness and bloating can improve immediately after a colonic.

✨ Sometimes you just need to make a little room. 💚

💚 Your gut doesn't know the difference between "big stress" and "everyday stress."

When most people think about stress, they picture major life events like financial challenges, relationship struggles, or work deadlines.

But your body also responds to the everyday demands of life—even if you don't think of them as "stress."

Your gut experiences stress from things like:

😴 Poor quality or not enough sleep — Even one restless night can affect how your body functions the next day.

🌫️ Environmental pollutants and toxins — Your body is constantly working to process and eliminate substances you're exposed to every day, from air pollution to chemicals in your environment. While many exposures are a normal part of life, they still require your body's resources to manage.

🏃 A packed schedule — Getting the kids ready, rushing to work, running errands, making dinner, and getting everyone where they need to be. Your body recognizes it as a full day of demands.

🍽️ Poor quality meals — Skipping breakfast, rushing through lunch, or being too exhausted to prepare a nourishing dinner all place additional demands on your body.

✈️ Travel or changes in routine — Vacations, starting a new job, a new school year, or simply shifting from summer to fall activities can all affect your digestive system.

Whether the stress is physical, emotional, or environmental, your digestive system responds.

For some people, stress can slow digestion and contribute to constipation. For others, it may speed things up or lead to bloating, cramping, or changes in bowel habits.

One of the best things you can do for your gut is to give your body opportunities to recover.

🌿 Take a few moments throughout the day to breathe deeply, allowing your breath to fill your lungs and relax your body.

🚶 Go for a short walk.

😴 Prioritize quality sleep—try turning off your phone and TV at least 30 minutes before bedtime.

🧘 Slow down when you can and give yourself permission to rest.

Your gut feels all of it.
