I spend so much of my time sharing hair, transformations, brides, and the work I create — but I realized y’all should also see me.

Katie Parker and I wanted something feminine, nostalgic, whimsical, and a little more personal for this branding shoot. Therefore becoming something that represented not only the hairstylist behind the chair, but the woman I’ve grown into because of it.

The little girl in these photos holds a special piece of that vision for me. In a way, she mirrors the little girl I once was — the one who had no idea where life would take her, how much she would grow, or that one day she would build something entirely her own. 🤍

And at the same time, she represents a piece of the life I’m still dreaming about. Becoming a mother one day, continuing to grow alongside my business, and creating a life where I don’t have to choose between being present for my family and being a successful business owner.

This is actually my second branding session this year, but for a completely different reason. 🤍 My first session beautifully captured me in my element — the hairstylist, the business owner, and the work I’ve spent years building. And this one is the girl behind the chair, the little girl she once was, and a glimpse of the woman she’s still becoming. 🤍

I used to think being a successful hairstylist meant saying yes to everything.

Work late.
Come in early.
Skip lunch.
Answer messages at 10 PM.
Take “just a trim” appointments that somehow turn into a 4-hour color correction.

Turns out… the biggest thing that grew my business was learning to say no.

No to discounting.
No to clients who don’t respect my time.
No to burning myself out just to prove I’m hardworking.

The funny part? The more boundaries I set, the busier I got.

To some people, it’s “just hair.”

To me...

It’s carrying the weight of someone’s trust.

It’s hoping they love what they see.
It’s worrying when they don’t.
It’s celebrating every smile, every confidence boost, every “I finally feel pretty again.”

It’s investing thousands back into my business while praying people understand why prices change.

It’s pouring into others every day, even when I’m running on empty.

Being a hairstylist has stretched me, humbled me, and challenged me in ways I never expected.

But if I can help even one person leave my chair standing a little taller than when they walked in...
