Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance.

Cellulite is classified using 4 grades:
•Grade 0: This grade has no visibility of cellulite when standing or lying down.
•Grade 1: This grade has mild visibility of dimpling in the skin when you're lying down but disappears when you stand.
•Grade 2: This grade has moderate visibility of dimpling in the skin. It appears when you're standing and lying down.
•Grade 3: This grade has severe visibility of dimpling in the skin and it shows when standing and lying down.

There's no known factor as to what causes cellulite but cellulite forms when fibrous bands connecting to your skin to the underlying muscle tightens irregularly. This tightening pulls down on your skin, and the normal layer of fat beneath the skin pushes upward. The result is a dimpling or puckering appearance to the skin.
