Let’s Do This!!! This is the final days of the crap work that’s going into this new space! I’m so excited for what comes next.. let talk and be transparent about construction..
•It will ALWAYS look worse before it starts to look better.
•it’s dusty as hell and will probably be dusting the same dust for the next 5 years 🥴
•The most expensive part is the stuff you don’t see, under cement plumbing, behind the sheet rock electrical, hot water heaters, breakers.. like ugh I want to spend money on pretty furniture not things you can’t see.. but oh well. It’s worth it..
•Communication between every contractor, technician, handyman, landlords etc.. I was born in the construction industry (my dad owns his construction business) so luckily I know just about all the lingo and if I don’t I just call him.. (which has happened twice already during this project) so basically I’m a PRO now 🤣 jk.. but seriously 😒
•Going into a project like this with a partner that is like minded and has the same amount of energy (aka ADHD) as you is essential!! even if they only paint half walls and move on to something else.. lol I love her Ashley Alcala| Hair Extensions | Color | Cypress Texas
•Working on your birthday, running to electrical supply, cabinet store so that the contractor stays on site to continue to work so the job doesn’t get prolonged.. went to dinner that night and it didn’t even taste good because I was so tired.
•Working a double life.. literally.. work at current salon 8-6, then at the new salon afterwards and on days off are for the birds! I am grateful to be able to do both.. but I will be more grateful when this s**t is done.. 😂😚

Building a team has always been one of the hardest parts of owning my salon.
If I’m being completely honest, the thought of delegating pieces of something I’ve poured my heart and soul into made me feel like I was giving up control. I built this business from the ground up, so trusting someone else with even the smallest tasks didn’t come naturally.
But one of my babes, Kelsey | Fractional COO & Strategic Advisor , has completely changed my perspective. She reminded me that building a business doesn’t mean you have to carry every single thing on your own. Sometimes growth looks like trusting the right people and allowing them to help you shine even brighter.
And now… I have the sweetest assistant, Kadence , and I truly don’t know how I ever managed without her. My days run so much smoother, everything feels more organized, and by the time my social battery completely checks out around 3 PM 😂 she happily takes over the chatting for the rest of the day. Total game changer. 🤣🤍
Learning to let go of a little control hasn’t made this salon any less mine—it’s made it stronger.
So here’s your reminder (and mine): you don’t have to do it all alone. The right people won’t take away from your vision… they’ll help bring it to life. 🌿🤎 with that being said, follow along for the next adventure and missing puzzle pieces.. coming soon.. 😘
