⚡️ Nerve Glides ⚡
Nerve glides — or nerve flossing — are gentle movements that pull a nerve back and forth through its surrounding tissue.

Unlike static stretching, which elongates muscle fibers, nerve glides improve the "sliding" mechanics of your nerves.

This reduces compression, boosts local blood flow, and instantly relieves tingling, numbness, and stubborn tension.

Think of it as WD-40 for your nervous system, restoring smooth, pain-free movement.

And as always, move with caution and don’t overdo it!

Femoral Nerve Flossing: Side-Lying Variation (Part 3 of our series) 🧬✨Struggling with standard lunges or finding it tough to lie flat on your belly? This side-lying femoral nerve glide is an ultra-accessible, gentle alternative to help mobilize the nerve path down the front of your thigh.
⛔️ But remember—nerve work requires a careful touch!
🛑 Listen to your body.
⚠️ PRECAUTIONS & WHEN TO STOP:
✋ No Sharp Pain: You should feel a gentle awareness or movement, never a sharp, stabbing, or shooting sensation.
🛑 Stop on Tingling: If your leg starts tingling, falling asleep, or feeling numb, stop immediately. You may be over-stretching or holding the position too aggressively.
✋ Avoid Hypermobility: Do not force your knee or hip past its natural range of motion. Keep it smooth and shallow.

⚠️ ❌ CONTRAINDICATIONS (Skip this exercise if you have):
✋ Acute Disc Herniation: Active, severe radiating lower back pain that worsens with movement.
✋ Recent Hip or Knee Surgery: Avoid until fully cleared by your physical therapist or physician.
✋ Severe Peripheral Neuropathy: Underlying conditions where sensation is deeply compromised.

👍🏼 Consistency beats intensity! Start with 1–2 gentle sets of 10 repetitions per side daily.

😓 Experiencing tightness or pulling in the front of your thigh or hip? (Femoral Nerve Glide, part 2)

🧬 A femoral nerve glide can help restore smooth movement and ease tension—especially if kneeling lunges are too intense for your body(see previous post on kneeling femoral nerve glide).

Here is a gentle, prone (on-belly) variation you can try safely at home! 👇
🛑 PRECAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS (When to skip or stop):
✋ Sharp, Shooting Pain: Glides should feel like a mild, dynamic stretch. Never push into sharp discomfort.
🛑 Numbness or Tingling: If your symptoms increase, change, or spread down the leg, stop immediately.
✋ Acute Disc Injury: Avoid this if you have a freshly herniated disc causing active radiating pain.
🛑 Recent Hip/Knee Surgery: Consult your physical therapist or surgeon before attempting nerve mobilizations.

👍🏼 Consistency beats intensity! Try 1–2 sets of 10–15 gentle repetitions daily to keep things moving smoothly.

Unlock Pain-Free Movement: The Kneeling Femoral Nerve Glide 💜🩵

Ever feel a dull, achy pull, or a tingling sensation shooting down the front of your thigh or into your knee?
If typical quad stretches aren't giving you relief, your femoral nerve might be tight or restricted.
Unlike muscles, nerves don't like to be aggressively stretched—they need to be gently "flossed" or glided.
🌟 Who Benefits the Most?
This kneeling glide variation is highly effective for:
💥 Active individuals & athletes dealing with repetitive lower-body impact or heavy weightlifting.
💥 Anyone experiencing dull, radiating discomfort, or tightness in the front hip flexors, groin, or front of the thigh.
💥 People with restricted hip mobility who sit for extended hours, causing the tissue surrounding the nerve to tighten.

PART 1: Nerve Glides

🤔 Ever feel like your muscles are constantly tight, no matter how much you stretch? 🛑

😅 The real culprit might not be your muscle tissue at all—it could be trapped nerves.
⛓️ 🔗 Nerves are engineered to slide, stretch, and glide smoothly through your muscles and fascial pathways. NOT be chained and ‘stuck’ by muscles and fascia.
—> But injury, repetitive posture, or chronic inflammation can cause them to become glued down. ⛓️‍💥
🧠 When a nerve gets stuck, your brain triggers constant muscle tension as a protective reflex! 💥

⁉️ Why is my Initial Appointment Session 2 hours and 15 minutes??? Because I teach you to do the Nerve Glides that will help your body heal 🙏🏽❤️‍🩹
