Control > pressure.
Tap left, tap right, guide the center — and let it self-level.

If you’re forcing your nail tips to fit… that’s your first mistake 👀
Sizing it correctly changes everything — no lifting, no pressure, better retention.
Acrylic lifting isn’t random — it’s usually in your prep, application, or ratio.
Clean nail plate, controlled bead, and proper placement = long-lasting sets 💅
Fix these and you’ll see the difference immediately.
Skipping dehydrator and primer is costing you adhesion.
The oil and moisture sitting on your nail plate will block your primer from ever reaching the keratin. No bond at the surface means no bond in your acrylic.
Most nail techs place the bead where they want it to end up — that’s the mistake. Place it just below your target zone and let it flood on its own. You get cleaner cuticle lines with less effort.
Save this for your next acrylic set.
That skill compounds every set you do from here — and it starts with breaking the design down into shapes. The techs with clean nail art aren’t more talented — it just looks complicated until you know what to look for.

Crooked nails are a filing problem, not a skill problem. Most nail techs don’t realize the fix is in how you stabilize — not how hard you file. The grit you choose matters just as much as the motion. Watch this before your next acrylic set.

Everyone told me a perfect French tip came down to the brush. After years of doing nails, I found out they were wrong.
The real difference is your gel polish. One coat of MakarttPro Gel Polish goes further than two coats of anything else — which means after a clean French line, you never have to go back in for a second layer and risk losing the crisp edge you just built.
Investing in your polish isn’t optional. It’s one of the most important decisions you make as a nail technician.

Your brush size is directly affecting your bead control.
Size 8 Kolinsky → small nail beds, short nails, overlays, and fills.
Size 10 (even a 12) → medium to long nails, larger nail beds, two-bead method. For beginners, the 8 and 10 are your starting point.
If you’re doing XL nails or prefer the one-bead method, the size 16 is built for that — just not recommended for beginners yet.
All three are linked in bio.
File your sides first with a regular file before you bring in the 5-in-1 bit.
At this stage you're smoothing, not debulking.
Let the bit sit flat — never dig into the cuticle area.
If it starts to skip, your speed is too low. Turn it up.
