♻️ Small choices. Big impact.
One of the things I love most about being a member of is knowing that the beauty industry doesn’t have to create unnecessary waste.
Since February 2026, Honey & Ginger guests have helped keep 62 pounds❗️ of beauty waste out of landfills through our salon recycling and recovery program. Hair clippings, color waste, plastics, metals, paper products, single-use items, and even retired hot tools are collected and diverted through specialized recovery streams instead of ending up in the trash.
The best part? There is no additional cost to YOU to participate. Every guest contributes simply by visiting the salon and enjoying the services they already receive.
It’s one of those behind-the-scenes details you may never see, but together it creates a meaningful impact over time. Thank you for helping make beauty a little more sustainable, one reservation at a time. 💛
What would have become waste is now being given a second life, and that’s something worth celebrating. ♻️
This is one of those salon secrets most guests never hear about...
Most people think patterned and colored foils are just for fun.
And while seasonal foils definitely make the salon experience a little more festive, they can actually serve a much bigger purpose behind the chair.
They're helping me keep track of what's going where! Because accidentally adding three extra lowlights to a blonde is a LOT harder to explain after the foils come out. 😂
When I'm creating dimensional color, I am working with multiple formulas throughout the same head of hair. Using different foil colors/patterns helps me visually map where each formula is being placed, making it easier to maintain balance, track placement, and avoid accidentally repeating or skipping a color.
Think of it like color-coding a roadmap. One pattern might represent a lowlight, while another represents a highlight or a different tonal family. It helps ensure the final result is balanced, intentional, and customized from root to end.
And as an added bonus? They make for much better salon selfies than plain silver foils!!!
Were you surprised to learn there can be a purpose behind different foil patterns?
Save this post for your next salon visit, and share it with a friend who thought patterned foils were just for decoration.
The secret ingredient in strawberry blonde isn't copper, gold, or blonde...💗
A touch of pink mixed into a gold/copper gloss can completely transform a strawberry blonde!!!
It helps soften the copper, enhance luminosity, and create that delicate "sunset" effect without looking overly orange or overly red.
My general rule: no more than 1/3 of the gloss formula as pink, balanced with gold and copper tones.
Save this for your next strawberry blonde inspiration.

🚨PRO TIP: If your goal is low-maintenance hair color, start by choosing a color that works WITH your natural hair rather than against it.
One of the easiest ways to reduce salon visits is to stay within 1 to 2 levels of your natural color and avoid creating a harsh line of color directly at the scalp. Soft dimension, blended placement, and a more natural grow-out pattern allow your color to age gracefully between reservations.
This strawberry blonde is a great example. As it grows, there isn't a dramatic line of demarcation, which means the color continues to look intentional for much longer.
What does maintenance typically look like?
Most guests can go anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks between major color reservations. Depending on your hair goals, it may take a few visits to create that seamless, blended result. Some guests also choose to reserve a gloss, toner, or haircut appointment between color visits to keep the tone bright and the ends looking fresh without committing to a full color service.
Thinking about making your color routine a little more low-maintenance? Save this post for your next reservation, and if you're not sure what approach would work best for your hair, send me a DM- I'm happy to point you in the right direction.
Every head of hair is different. If you'd like a color plan that fits both your hair goals and your lifestyle, let's create one together at your next reservation. 💛

The Honey Circle was NEVER designed to be a program filled with discounts, giveaways, or extra things to collect.
It was created to solve some of the most common scheduling frustrations I hear from guests throughout the year. 1 of the perks: SCHEDULE DRAMA:
📅Forgetting to reserve your next visit.
📅Being sick and needing to reschedule.
📅Missing holiday availability before realizing it’s time to schedule.
📅Wanting an earlier reservation but not knowing an opening became available.
📅Wishing you could plan further ahead.
The scheduling benefits featured in this post are just ONE small part of what comes with being a Honey Circle member. Every benefit was thoughtfully created to make maintaining your hair feel easier, more organized, and less stressful.

Before someone ever sits in my chair, they usually read what someone else had to say first.
That's why these 40 Google Reviews mean so much to me. On the surface, it might look like a business milestone. But what it really represents is something much bigger.
Forty people took time out of their day to share their experience. Not because they had to, but because they wanted to help someone else make a more informed decision.
When you're choosing a hairstylist, you're not just reserving a service. You're trusting someone with your appearance, your confidence, your time, and often the stories that unfold during a reservation.
Reviews help bridge that gap. They give potential guests insight into what it's actually like to sit in the chair, experience the space, and work together toward their hair goals.
As a small business owner, THAT kind of trust is invaluable.
To everyone who has left a review, referred a friend, shared a post, or recommended Honey & Ginger to someone they care about- THANK YOU. Your support has played a meaningful role in every step of this journey.
And yes... I'm incredibly grateful for all 40 Google Reviews. 💛
If you've visited the studio and would like to share your experience, I'd be honored to hear your thoughts.
Most people know me for red hair and gray coverage.
And while those may be the services I’m most recognized for, great hair is never JUST about the color.
The haircut is what creates the foundation. It’s what determines how your hair moves, how it frames your features, and how easily it works with your natural texture day after day. Or creating something that you can easily manipulate your natural texture from.
For guests with curly or wavy hair, creating shape isn’t always as straightforward as it seems. Every curl pattern behaves differently, and the goal isn’t to force the hair into a trend- it’s to create a customized shape that works for the person wearing it. Oh, and can we also take a moment to address that typically we have multiple curl patterns in one head of hair- some wavy, some curly, some coily. That is an entire convo on its own!
Because whether we’re talking about red hair, gray coverage, dimensional color, or a precision haircut, the goal is always the same:
Hair that feels like you, and confidence that lasts long after you leave the studio.
No matter what brings you into my chair, my focus is helping you find a look that fits your lifestyle, supports your goals, and leaves you feeling like the best version of yourself.
Most people choose their shampoo based on their hair. I often choose it based on their scalp.
One of the most common things I see is someone struggling with hair that feels dry, dull, heavy, oily, or difficult to style, and immediately assuming they need a different conditioner, treatment, or styling product.
Sometimes the solution starts much earlier in the routine.
Your scalp is skin. Just like the skin on your face, it has unique needs that can change with age, environment, stress, hormones, medications, and even the season. When the scalp isn't properly cared for, the hair can often reflect it. And trust me, mine goes through stages REGULARLY!!!
That's why I spend time asking questions and making recommendations that are specific to the individual sitting in my chair, not simply what's trending online.
The right products should solve a problem, not create another one.
If you've ever felt like your hair isn't behaving the way it used to, send me a DM. I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction.

One thing about me: I love helping people stay ahead of the game.
A fresh blonding, seamless gray coverage, or a beautiful red all have one thing in common: they look their best when there's a plan in place.
That's why I'm such a big believer in pre-scheduling your next reservation before you leave. Not because I want to fill the calendar, but because I want you to have access to the days and times that work best for your life.
Of course, life happens though!!!
I regularly receive messages from guests who need to reschedule a reservation due to travel, work, family commitments, or the unexpected curveballs life likes to throw our way. The good news is that when guests are scheduled in advance, I can often help with a swap with someone who has a little flexibility in their schedule.
In many cases, it's much easier to move an existing reservation than it is to find a brand-new opening when you need one.
So if you ever need a different day or time and don't see what you're looking for through online reservations, send me a DM! Sometimes there's an opportunity that isn't visible online, and I'm always happy to see what options might be available.
A little planning today can save a lot of frustration later.

Most people know me as a hairstylist, salon owner, educator, and bowler.
But if you've spent any amount of time around me, you probably know my real favorite title: Cat Daddy Chad.
This handsome guy is Atticus, my largest Maine C**n and arguably the sweetest soul in the house. As he's gotten older (and much larger), he's become more and more of a lap cat. The only challenge? He's long since outgrown fitting on just a lap. These days, he prefers claiming an entire chest as his personal lounging spot.
One thing people are often surprised to learn about me is that I intentionally schedule time to do absolutely nothing!!!
I love traveling, teaching, competing, and staying busy, but if I'm not careful, I can fill every open space on my calendar. As an introvert, I need quiet time to recharge. Protecting those days of rest helps me show up as a better artist, educator, friend, and human.
Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is slow down.
For me, that usually looks like a quiet day at home, a good book, and a 23-pound Maine C**n reminding me that the couch is exactly where I'm supposed to be.
