Find Out Your Hair Type & Curl Pattern.
First, we must determine your hair type. Hair types are broken down into four groups. The products in this article will work for Types 3, 4, and 2C’s.
Type 1 = Straight
Type 2 = Wavy & S-Shaped (Some Spiraling)
Type 3 = Curly (Ringlets, Spirals, Corkscrews)
Type 4 = Coily/Very Curly (Tight S-Pattern or Z-shape/Zigzag Shape)
Second, we must identify the approximate diameter of your waves, curls, or coils. This is broken down by letters A, B, & C. With A meaning widest, B meaning medium diameter, and C meaning tightest.
2C= S-shaped waves that start at the root and can have some spiral curls too. It can also be coarse, thicker and prone to frizz.
3A= S-shaped curls where the diameter of the curl is close to the size of a piece of sidewalk chalk.
3B= The diameter of the curl is similar to a marker.
3C= The diameter of the curl is similar to that of a pencil or a straw.
4A= Tight S-shaped coils and curls, around the diameter of a crochet needle.
4B= Z-shaped tightly angled bends rather than curls or coils
4C= Very tight zig-zag patterned hair that is more fragile, and has the least amount of definition.

A Simple DIY Curl Cream Recipe That Can Give Your Hair New Life.
Softening Shea Butter Curl Cream
Shea butter and coconut oil are usual suspects when it comes to DIY curl creams. This particular recipe makes use of both while incorporating aloe vera gel for texture and refreshing essential oils for that added oomph.
Ingredients:
Shea butter
Coconut oil
Apricot kernel oil
Pure aloe vera gel
Rosemary essential oil
Chamomile essential oil
Directions:
Melt and mix together the shea butter and coconut oil, then let the melted mixture cool in the refrigerator until it partially solidifies.
Whip with a hand mixer, add the apricot kernel oil, then continue mixing.
Add the pure aloe vera oil until it is completely mixed (and add essential oils for a rejuvenating scent, as desired).
Transfer to a mason jar and store in a dry, clean place.

Tired of feeling the frizzies? Here are 5 easy at-home recipes you can use to tame your frizzy locks…
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
The presence of acetic acid in apple cider vinegar gives it a pH level similar to that of human hair. Using this rinse regular may help to bring hair to its ideal acidity and, as an added bonus, leaves it with a healthy shine. After shampooing your hair (and completely rinsing it out), pour apple cider vinegar over entire head and let sit for about 30 seconds before rinsing — for best results, rinse with cool water. Condition your hair as you normally would. If you’re not a fan of vinegar’s scent, dilute in water before applying.
Avocado & Olive Oil Mask
Think of this as a natural conditioner for your hair — avocado and olive oil both harbor amazing hydrating benefits, and avocado also possesses good fatty acids to help soothe frizziness. Mash up avocado and add a splash of olive oil, and mix together. After shampooing, apply avocado mask to your entire head of hair. Let sit for 30 minutes to an hour, then rinse thoroughly. Condition as you would normally.
Raw Egg & Olive Oil Treatment
Whisk one raw egg and mix in a spoonful of olive oil. Egg yolks are rich in fats and proteins, and egg whites contain an enzyme – lysozyme — which kill bacteria and remove unwanted oils. Meanwhile, olive oil acts as en emollient that locks moisture into your hair. Apply this mixture to your hair prior to shampooing/conditioning and let sit for about 30 minutes before rinsing and washing hair.
Coconut Oil or Olive Oil Treatment
Coconut oil is incredibly hydrating and, of course, smells amazing. Rub a dollop through your hair when it’s feeling dry, focusing primarily on your ends as opposed to your roots (to avoid scalp becoming too oily). Another great option is olive oil — put a few drops in your hand and run through damp hair to lock in moisture.
Carbonated Water Rinse
The simplest and easiest method of de-frizzing is with a carbonated water rinse. After washing your hair, give it a final rinse with carbonated water. The low pH level helps to reduce frizz, similar to apple cider vinegar.
