On International Women’s Day, I’m taking a moment to reflect on what it means to build something as a woman.

Unrefined Essentials didn’t come from a big beauty lab or a corporate boardroom. It started with curiosity, research, late nights, and a commitment to creating products that truly care for your skin.

Every formula I develop, every batch I make, and every product that leaves my hands carries intention behind it.

So today I’m celebrating the women who create, build, lead, and keep showing up for their vision.

Sometimes when people tell me their skin suddenly feels sensitive, tight, or irritated, the first thing I think about is their skin barrier.

Your skin barrier is basically your skin’s protective layer. Its job is to keep moisture in and irritation out.
