Most kids styles shouldn’t take more than 3 hours so anything beyond that, I have to consider my time vs. what I’m being paid.
I see the conversations about kids pricing, but respectfully… $25 -$40 styles are a thing of the past. The time, skill, and cost of products don’t match that anymore.

Now don’t get it twisted I still offer simple, affordable kids styles in the $50–$75 range that can last up to a month with proper care 💅🏽

“Can I write off getting my child’s hair done?”
The answer is usually no.
The IRS considers your child’s hair a personal expense, and personal expenses typically cannot be deducted on your business taxes.
However, there may be an exception.
If your child is being used as a model for your business, the service could potentially qualify as a marketing or advertising expense.
For example:
✔ Taking photos for your portfolio
✔ Creating content for your business page
✔ Posting styles to promote your services
✔ Using the photos for booking sites or ads
In those cases, the hairstyle may be considered part of your business marketing.
Just remember … if you ever claim something like this you should have documentation, such as:
• photos or videos of the style
• proof it was used for marketing or promotion
• records showing it was connected to your business
When in doubt, always check with a tax professional to make sure you’re filing correctly.
