We, the team at Terra Mater, are forever grateful for your patronage and patience during these trying times. As you know our priority has been everyone’s health, beauty, and safety. We also strive to find the best new, innovative, and proven ways to implement the highest safety standards in addition to all the existing procedures and precautionary measures. After much research, we are excited to announce our investment in, and installation of the new Synexis Bio Defense Air System.

The Synexis System will facilitate and enable us to have a cleaner and healthier work environment. Using their patented Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP) Technology, this system will provide our salon with continuous decontamination and reduction of broad spectrum viruses (Including Covid-19), bacteria, and fungi.

So what does this mean?

The coveted shampoo, blowdrys, and heat styling services are back!!!

- You can get a cut and a color service on the same day!
- You will now receive a shampoo with your haircut service AND a blowdry.
- Please come to your color service with hair washed that morning.
- Please arrive at the salon wearing two masks.
- Please reschedule if you are feeling ill or have a temperature above 99 degrees.

* Our new Synexis System does not mean that we will relax our procedures regarding sanitation, this will be an added defense to help keep everyone who enters the salon safe and healthy.

Hello to all of our beautiful, color deficient, and shaggy headed clients.

We know that during these frightening and frustrating Covid19 times, you can barely see through your own grown-out bangs to read this email. We want you to know we love and miss you all. We sincerely hope that eventually we will be able to beautify you once again.

Despite how much we all want things to return to normal, it is paramount to us that we remain closed for services until we know that your safety and that of our staff can be better guaranteed. We feel that until the Pandemic is sufficiently contained and the curve starts dropping in Georgia, it is our duty to remain vigilant and extremely cautious in order to make sure ALL of our safety is achieved.

Currently we are working as a staff to implement safety precautions for when we reopen for services. We have not chosen a specific date to reopen, but can promise to share updates as the situation changes and develops. Our decision will be driven by data and information and we will have to react fluidly. We will begin the necessary preparations for reopening, but pease understand it may take time. Things will feel different for a while, but this is for the protection of EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.

As these new standards and policies gradually take shape we can all move together towards a safer environment. Meanwhile there are some activities we can offer you in the short term to keep us all afloat. To help with all your hair and skincare needs, we will be implementing Saturday 9-5 curb side pickup. This will begin this Saturday, April 25. We will exercise all precautionary steps including, 6ft distancing and wearing protective gloves and masks. The salon interior will be closed to the public. We will only service one mask wearing customer at a time. All transactions will be made outside the salon using Visa, MasterCard, or personal check. You may also visit Aveda.com and place an order online. When you do, please refer our name as you checkout so we may receive credit for the sale. Aveda has been kind enough to pay us a bit of commission for your online purchase.

Lastly, as a small business, we are doing everything we can to maintain our existence through this. In order to help us survive these times, Terra Mater will be accepting donations to keep us afloat. These donations not only assist paying our staff, they also help pay the rent and utilities necessary to keep the salon viable until we can open. If you feel so inclined to make a donation and ensure that your stylists are there in the future continue to care for you, here are a few options:

Terra Mater will be accepting checks in the mail, written to Terra Mater Salon as a donation.

Or if you choose to participate in our curbside product sale Saturday's, a donation of your choosing can be added to your total bill at checkout.

We truly appreciate all of the love and dedication you've shown us during the 30 years Terra Mater has been around. It has been an honor to serve you . The memories and stories we've shared, and the generations of families we've shared remain priceless. We hope to be able to continue to serve you and the community of Decatur for many many more years. We miss all of you deeply and hope we can stay in contact while we're all at home. Our page is a great place to keep up with what our staff is up to as well as get a much needed laugh out of some of the strange situations we've found ourselves in. Our phones at the salon are still up and running and we love hearing messages from you all. It’s a great way for us to feel connected to you, even if we can't physically connect.
