Gather around, my beauties, because it's story time!

On the left is my wonderful salon guest Sue O'Connell, and on the right is my other wonderful salon guest Ilene.

In September of last year Ilene and her husband, who were recent Cape Cod transplants from Long Island, were watching NBC Boston where Sue happens to be a commentator. Ilene had been looking for a stylist and commented to her husband Charlie about how much she loved Sue's hair.

Unbeknownst to Ilene, Charlie raced off to message Sue to ask her where she gets her hair done. Lucky for all of us, Sue messaged back almost immediately with my contact info. Ilene contacted me and she's been a client ever since. She's a damn delight, and I love having her in my chair. It was meant to be!

A few weeks ago, Sue was on my book, and Ilene was the appointment right after her. So I let Ilene know Sue would be in, so maybe they could meet. (Sue had no idea).

As I'm finishing Sue up, Ilene and Charlie show up with the printed pic of Sue that Ilene always comes to the salon with as a reference picture, waving it around the corner of my suite.

We all had a good laugh, and I had the joy of watching Ilene fan girl over Sue, while Charlie looked on with a smile.

These are the moments that stick with me over my three decades of doing hair. Making people feel beautiful is the most amazing part of my job, but making human connections are an added bonus!

I was in salon today.....don't cry for me- I have lots of travel coming up. Gotta take care of my guests while I'm in town!

My day started with beautiful flowers and Reese's cups from my awesome kid. Then my first client showed up with gorgeous tulips from her garden. Next up was an iced coffee from my suite neighbor Nhi- if you want your lashes done she's your gal.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms. And much love to those who are missing their Moms this Mother's Day.

AI is a new technology that's awesome in so many ways, but also daunting for many of us.

In the hair industry, folks sometimes bring us hair inspiration photos that just aren't attainable because the photos aren't real people! That's ok. Y'all can't always tell what's AI and what isn't. The key is trusting your stylist to tell you what's achievable.

I love inspo pics, not all stylists do. I also understand that folks can't always decipher what is real, and what isn't. That's also ok. The key is bringing lots of pics of what you love, and even some of what you don't love. The more info, the better.

A thorough consultation will always help bring the best results!
