✍️🙋🏻‍♀️😌 TO ERR IS HUMAN 😌🙋🏻‍♀️✍️

We will never use generative AI. Never. We will never use it for our copy, our advertising, and certainly never for our product photos—not even for photo editing.

We’ve also become less and less inclined to use normal editing software to retouch photos—and don’t get me wrong, retouching is fine! There are tiny details or flaws you would never notice with the naked eye, that become glaring under the camera lens. So retouching images to clean up small details is a perfectly acceptable practice (you don’t ACTUALLY expect your Big Mac to look like the one on the McDonald’s screen lol) to help you engage with real products based off their ideal version.

But honestly… we’ve kind of stopped doing even that. For now, generative AI is programmed to show us images that feel perfect; it’s not inclined to incorporate flaws. But as it gets harder and harder to know what’s real and what’s slop, simple human error has become our saving grace. So celebrate imperfections—yours, ours—while we can, and look at the details here that help you know these are real!

(BTW these are bath bombs and they will be listed on our website soon, I just needed to get that off my soul first lol✌️)

What is Batch Certification?

In the United States, all colorants used in food, drugs, and cosmetics are required to be certified by the FDA before those products can be sold. Through this rigorous process, colorants are tested for contaminants, purity, and establish visibility within the supply chain from manufacturer, distributor, and eventually the consumer.

Further, any time previously certified colorants are repackaged, they lose their original certification and must be re-certified by the FDA. This ensures transparency, and gives the FDA the ability to continue to trace those colorants back to the original manufacturer.

Many suppliers skirt around these laws by stating their colors are "FDA approved", or giving a long explanation of how those colorants were "previously certified by their supplier, so we don't need to".

We are proud to be one of the 20 companies in the United States consistently submitting our colorants to the FDA for testing. Check the comments for a link where you can see if your supplier is also selling certified colorants.
