As it usually happens, I crave for a change around my birthday and it most always involves my hair. After cutting off my hair and getting rid of my lighter strands and keeping it dark last year, I decided to get my ash strands back with my Queen of Ash tones, . She knows how to get my black hair to ash in one sitting - granted, a 6-hour session but she gets it!! Master!! Kudos to her for my ash strands on this Cool Winter who gets jaundiced with warm colors and who did it wrong her entire life until finding out she’s cool 🙂
I also got my eyebrows done/microbladed for the very first time. It was something that I had always been afraid of doing but after studying the face and facial features in depth all through last year (more on this to come), I was convinced to do it and although it’s a slow work in progress, I’m liking the change! Although it may look like it, no Botox yet. Maybe next year or next years to come lol It was a filter that my hairstylist used to smooth out my skin and the ring light which was perfect. I took the day to be pampered and it felt so wonderful!!
It’s my last year in my 30s. Cheers to a good year, which has already started off with some surprises from some dear friends and co-workers. I am lucky!! 🙏❤️

I can’t believe I haven’t posted about this client before! What a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Deep Winter she is!! She never thought she could wear 1) cool colors and 2) colors with intensity. Some of us (myself included) grow up to believe that because of a certain overtone (the superficial color of our skin) l, cool and intense colors aren’t for us and that ends up in us wearing warm neutrals which can in turn makes us look not our best. Dusted colors take out glow away when you have a level of saturation in your composition that demands that we repeat that saturation in the colors surrounding our faces. I, for one, was in shock when I learned that I needed saturation. It was something I couldn’t imagine being able to pull off. But of course, the right level of saturation because not all Winters are created equal. This beautiful Deep Winter had the same realization in her session and it was eye-opening to her and we had one of the most unforgettable sessions I’ve had because of her incredible reaction. She made me cry. I am SO grateful to be part of this journey with my beautiful clients!! ❤️❤️❤️

Look at how all these colors surrounding this beautiful Warm Spring complement and harmonize with her!! Delicate but clear colors to match her undertone. One would probably look at her and type her as an Autumn but nope, muted colors don’t quite match the clarity level that she carries within her coloring composition. No, she’s a beautiful Warm Spring!! A colorful and cheerful color palette for her indeed!!

People always ask me if I can just look at someone and tell them their palette rights away. The answer is no. I may have an idea and I can try and guess but I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of clients and I know better than to judge a book by its cover. Never!! My friends do the judgment for me all the time. Whenever we go out, they’re always asking: what palette do you think that person is? I bet she’s a Cool Winter!” I have friends that are notorious for doing this lol I always stay quiet and just answer: unless I do a thorough analysis comparing drapes, I am not saying anything. I’ve been surprised by many clients who come in and can hold more intensity and brightness in their colors that I assumed possible. I’ve seen people coming in looking like one season but the comparison of drapes and study of contrast and coloring traits showed me differently.
You cannot determine one’s color by looking at their eye color, hair color, wrist vein color or any other crazy method you’ve seen out there. We’re looking at undertone, how it reacts with different shades and different properties. And here’s a client that came in and surprised me. She can hold intense colors like no one’s business. And I tried everything, I kept on trying the Cool Winter one that has less intensity to ensure my eyes weren’t seeing things but in the end it was clear that she needs bright and neutral cool colors in order to make her facial features pop even more! She, her BFF and myself could not believe how much color she could hold but our eyes couldn’t deny it. It was like a night and day difference!! Never judge a book by its cover. Take that for life.

I’m going to start the week with a picture of this beautiful lady who left me a review that I literally cried while reading it. It was so heart-touching, I felt her feelings through her words and I was sooo grateful that I did her colors and she was able to see the beauty in herself and all those deep beautiful colors that make her simply beautiful. The confidence within has been exposed to the outer world and the last time I saw her, she was wearing a beautiful turquoise dress that left everyone talked about her. We mutually benefitted from our appointment together - she uplifted in a genuine way with her powerful words in her review and I feel I peeled one layer and unveiled a true gem!! Awwww!! I always say this, but how lucky am I to work with such incredible and generous and beautiful people?? Very, very, very lucky!! My Dress Your Colors tribe is beautiful!! ♥️♥️♥️ Happy Monday, my beautiful people!!

A mother + daughter session that was so fun! And, funnily enough, for the first time, I’ve had a mother and daughter matching the exact color palette. I’ve had cases where we’ll have two different kind of palettes within the same season but these two matched the same. I guess it’ll be easy shopping for clothes and makeup for each other from now on! 💖

I can’t believe I haven’t posted about this beautiful Clear Winter either!! Oh, she was a surprise! But my oh my, is she a Clear Winter!! As much as I draped her a million times (because I just couldn’t believe the amount of saturation she could hold and because the perfectionist in me couldn’t go on living if I hadn’t tried everything to ensure she is indeed this intense Clear Winter that she is! I saw her after our session and no doubt, the cool intense tones are sooooo for her!! The jewel tones brought our her eyes that much more! And it also matches her personality perfectly - she has big personality, confident and empowering and I’m glad those jewel tones have been confirmed to further brighten her up so she can continue bringing that light of hers to many other women that need her! I’m so grateful for the amazing women that color analysis has brought to my path! They’re all unique and I get to be a part of their journey! Women empowering women!

As I am on vacation with my family and reflecting upon this journey of mine with colors and my clients, I received this email yesterday that came just at the right time for me. It’s deeply rewarding to know that what I do with so much passion has a positive impact on the life of those I encounter in this journey. The amazing people that come into my world through this journey/business/passion of mine is what keeps me going even when the going gets tough. To know that I was part of a positive or fun change in someone’s life makes it so worthwhile.
Colors are powerful - simple and powerful. They changed my perspective and I hope to simplify many other people’s lives/wardrobes/routines/perspective of themselves, etc. To you all who I’ve had the pleasure to work with: MUCH THANK YOU!! There’s a lot more coming in the near future and I hope to have you all on board with me on this platform and this next stage which I hope to also be fun, empowering and enlightening!!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this one on here! One of my sweetest clients who had her daughter color analyzed mid last year and then came back beginning of this year to redo her own color analysis and see for herself what her color palette is. She had it done years ago (hence why she wanted her daughter to get her colors done). She was typed as a Winter but didn’t know what kind of Winter as they didn’t do the expanded seasonal method. Well, after all the testing and draping we found that Cool (True) Winter worked best for her. I remember trying the Deep Winter and it was too muted, we tried the Clear Winter and it was a tad bit too bright and the Cool Winter just hit the spot!! She is definitely cool and definitely bright! Softer cool colors were too weak and warm colors just weren’t good… cool, blue-based colors just brought out her natural healthy coloring and with the right amount of brightness her face just glowed!! Isn’t she just beautiful and radiant and her energy oh so present?? I loved seeing her again for her own color analysis - it makes me so happy to see my clients back - and see that smile at the end?? PRICELESS!!

Happy Friday with a picture of this beautiful family that I got to color analyze from Colorado Springs! I first color analyzed the beautiful Deep Autumn in the middle in March and then she came back recently because it was her mom’s bday and she wanted to give her a color analysis. We had a blast, such a nice family!! This is what I love the most - I get to see my previous clients and how they’re doing, what color analysis has done for them, and I am encouraged to keep on going because it truly feels wonderful knowing that I am, in a small way, adding to the simplicity of their lives and their wardrobe, that I helped bring some color and positivity to their dressing routine… very rewarding and encouraging, indeed. THANK YOU!! 💗

The third analysis of that day was a Warm Spring. They all left with different palettes matching their composition. At the end, we tried some make-up that matched their coloring and also their comfort level. Sometimes we’re not used to wearing anything more than a chapstick daily and that’s okay - adding just a hint of a lip gloss or tint in a subtle peach tone works and can have a big effect without having to go big and drastic in your make-up. That’s where self-knowledge really comes in and you feel a bit more comfortable going outside of your comfort zone knowing that at least you’re trying something that is fail-proof just for you!
