🌿🧘♀️ Friday night yoga + a little garden wandering = my kind of evening. 🐝🌸
Tonight’s Community Garden Mt. Holly yoga class was led by Rachael Harper with On Track Yoga, and it was such an amazing class!
Of course, while Rachael was welcoming everyone and getting us ready, I couldn’t resist going on a little adventure through the garden.
😂🌿 I wandered through the flowers taking in all the beauty, stopped to visit with some honey bees 🐝, spotted a ladybug 🐞, watched a few other busy little pollinators doing their thing... and then made my way back to my mat just in time for class to begin.
There’s just something about yoga outside, surrounded by growing things, buzzing bees, flowers, fresh air, and community that hits differently. 💚
Thank you, Rachael, for such a wonderful practice tonight! My body got some movement, my nervous system got some grounding, and my nature-loving heart got its fill too. 🌿🧘♀️🐝
✨ FLASHBACK FRIDAY: POWDER BROWS ✨
There’s something so satisfying about seeing the entire brow journey from start to finish. 🤎
This little flashback takes you through:
✨ Before — the starting point
✨ Immediately after — fresh powder brows
✨ 6 weeks healed — soft, natural & settled
✨ After the 6-week touch-up — refreshed, refined & ready for the final heal
Powder brows aren’t just about how they look the day you leave the appointment. The healing process matters, and that 6-week touch-up gives us the opportunity to perfect any areas that healed lighter, reinforce the shape, and make those finishing touches.
I love looking back at transformations like this because you get to see the process—not just the freshly finished result. 🖤

🌿✨ Our very first Virtual Herbal Wisdom Workshop last night was such a wonderful way to kick off this new monthly series!
We spent the evening getting to know three incredible herbs:
🌿 Ashwagandha
🌿 Holy Basil (Tulsi)
🌿 Rhodiola
There was plenty of herbal wisdom shared, questions asked, and conversation along the way—but we won't give away all of what we learned. 😉🌱
A huge thank you to everyone who joined me for our first workshop! I loved spending the evening learning and connecting with you, and I'm already looking forward to next month.
🌿 Herbal Wisdom Virtual Workshops
📅 Every 2nd Thursday of the month
⏰ 7:00–8:30 PM

Missed last night? No worries! Each month brings a new opportunity to join us and explore three herbs together.

See you next month for another evening of Herbal Wisdom! ✨
What a full, meaningful Thursday — community, connection, service, a little Fred humor, and some herbal wisdom to finish out the day. 🌿💚
This morning started at Joey’s in Denver with the WOW Women Networking Group! Lots of familiar faces, some new ones, plenty of conversation, networking, giveaways, and our 50/50 raffle — with the donation going to Divine Disaster Relief, who is helping with continued rebuilding efforts in the NC mountains following the devastation from Hurricane Helene. ⛰️❤️
And apparently today was my lucky day because I won a gift bag FULL of goodies from Digitize4u! 🎉
From Denver, it was off to Vale to visit my newest hospice assignment and provide end-of-life comfort massage as a hospice volunteer. 🤍
And yes… if you noticed Fred casually riding shotgun on the way there, you saw correctly. 😂💀 Apparently my skeleton has places to be too. Life at Self Care Sunday LLC is never boring!
After my hospice visit, it was back to the studio in Denver to switch gears again and get everything ready for something I’m SO excited about…
🌿 Our very first monthly Virtual Herbal Wisdom Workshop!
Tonight from 7:00–8:30 PM, we’re gathering virtually to learn about herbs and adaptogens with a focus on women’s wellness. One of the adaptogens we’ll be discussing tonight is Ashwagandha, so of course it seemed fitting to make myself a warm cup of Ashwagandha tea to sip while teaching. ☕🌿 You’ll catch that little moment in the video too.
Networking ➡️ supporting hurricane recovery efforts ➡️ winning a surprise goodie bag ➡️ Fred riding shotgun 💀 ➡️ hospice volunteering ➡️ back to the studio ➡️ Ashwagandha tea ➡️ teaching Herbal Wisdom tonight.
So many different pieces of what I do wrapped into one Thursday. 🤎
Community. Service. Education. Connection. Wellness.
That’s a pretty good day in my book. 🌿✨
Today, I begin walking alongside another hospice patient as a Hospice Volunteer Massage Therapist. 🤍
Hospice massage therapy is a very different kind of bodywork. It isn't about deep pressure, correcting muscles, or trying to change the body. It's about meeting someone exactly where they are and offering gentle, compassionate touch focused on comfort, relaxation, and quality of life.
I enter each hospice visit without an agenda.
🤍 Gentle, comforting touch
🤍 A calm and peaceful presence
🤍 Support for relaxation and ease
🤍 Respect for dignity, boundaries, and individual needs
🤍 Human connection during an incredibly tender chapter of life
Every hospice patient I've had the privilege of working with reminds me that massage therapy is so much more than muscles.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer another person is simply our presence.
Today is the beginning of a new hospice assignment, with a new person and a new story. I don't know exactly what our time together will look like, and that's okay. I'll meet them where they are, listen to what their body needs, and offer whatever comfort I can through gentle therapeutic touch and compassionate presence.
It is an incredible honor to be trusted with this work and to serve my community as a volunteer hospice massage therapist in North Carolina.
Comfort. Dignity. Presence. Peace. 🤍
Sometimes simply being there is the service.
Another evening of shaking, stretching, strengthening… and wondering why Katie makes everything look so easy. 😂🔥
Tonight was a semi-private Pilates class with Katie Len Greene at Pilates' Contrology Denver NC, and whewww… those tiny, controlled movements will humble you QUICK. 😅
I’ve really been enjoying adding Pilates into my own self-care routine lately. The focus on control, stability, balance, mobility, breath, and core strength is such a different kind of challenge—and I love getting to be the one on the table taking instructions for a change. 😂
There’s something really good about stepping outside of your usual routine, moving your body in a different way, and being a student again. 🌿
Tonight’s class was equal parts:
✨ “Oh, I’ve got this.”
🔥 “Okay… I feel that.”
😂 “Katie, how many more?”
💪 And “Yep, we’re doing this!”
A little movement, a little laughter, a whole lot of core…and another evening of practicing what I preach: self-care comes in MANY forms. 🤎

🌱 Virtual Herbal Wisdom — NEW Monthly Class!
📅 Thursday, August 13 | 7:00–8:30 PM
💻 Virtual
We're kicking off our new monthly Virtual Herbal Wisdom series! Our first class will explore herbs and adaptogens traditionally used to support women's health, including support through the changing seasons of womanhood — from reproductive years through perimenopause and menopause. 🌿✨
We'll talk about the plants, their traditional uses, ways they're commonly prepared, important safety considerations, and how herbal wisdom can become part of an intentional self-care practice.
And this isn't a one-time class! Virtual Herbal Wisdom will return on the second Thursday of every month, with new herbal topics to explore together. 🌱📚
✨ Registration is required for BOTH classes.

There’s something pretty incredible happening in the sky this week… 🌌✨
Wednesday, August 12, 2026 is bringing quite the celestial lineup.
🌑 A Total Solar Eclipse + New Moon
A total solar eclipse happens on August 12, occurring naturally during the New Moon. The path of totality crosses places including Greenland, Iceland and Spain. Here in North Carolina, we are not in the path of totality, so our eclipse experience will be much more subtle.
🌠 The Perseid Meteor Shower Peaks
THIS is the one I'm most excited about for us! The Perseids peak around the night of August 12 into the early morning hours of August 13. And because it coincides with the New Moon, there will be very little moonlight competing with those shooting stars. Find yourself a dark spot, get comfortable, look up and let the universe put on the show. ✨
🪐 Six Planets in the Morning Sky
Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Uranus, Saturn and Neptune will all be spread across the morning sky around this time. The viral posts are calling it a “planet parade,” although they won't literally be marching across the sky in one perfect little line. 😂 Some will also require binoculars or a telescope to see.
And technically, despite posts saying there are four separate celestial events, the New Moon and solar eclipse aren't separate events—the New Moon alignment is what allows a solar eclipse to happen.
So what we're really getting is three pretty amazing astronomical happenings overlapping around the same time. 🌑🪐🌠
Whether you look at moments like this purely through the lens of astronomy or simply appreciate the reminder of how enormous, wild and beautiful our universe is... go outside and LOOK UP. 🌌
Sometimes self-care looks like a massage, a quiet cup of tea or setting a boundary.
And sometimes it looks like standing barefoot in the grass at midnight, staring at the sky and remembering that we're part of something much, much bigger. 🌿🌠✨
🌿 This is my kind of self-care. 🍄✨
This morning was spent outside, wandering, noticing, exploring…and taking in all the tiny little things that are so easy to miss when we’re moving too fast.
So many different mushrooms tucked along the trail. 🍄 Bugs doing their little bug things. 🐛 A beautiful owl perched quietly above us, giving us just enough time to stop and admire it before spreading its wings and flying away. 🦉 And even a little circle of mushrooms that felt like stumbling upon one of nature’s tiny hidden worlds. ✨
I’ve always felt incredibly connected to nature. Give me trees, dirt, plants, wildlife, fresh air and something interesting growing on the forest floor and I’m happy. 😂🌿
There’s something about being outside that brings me right back into the present moment. You start looking closer. Listening more. Noticing textures, sounds, movement, colors…and suddenly your mind isn’t racing quite as much.
And THAT is self-care, too.
Self-care doesn’t always happen on a massage table or a yoga mat. Sometimes it looks like putting your shoes on, heading outside, breathing in the fresh air and remembering that there’s an entire living world happening around you. 💚
Slow down.
Look up.
Look down.
Notice the little things.
Nature has a pretty incredible way of bringing us back to ourselves. 🌿✨
