3 Things I’ve Learned About Being a Loctitian 🔐🤎

The more I work with locs, the more I realize being a loctitian is about WAY more than just doing a retwist.

1️⃣ Every loc journey is DIFFERENT.
What works for one client may not work for another. Hair texture, density, lifestyle, maintenance routine, and the stage of their loc journey all matter. I’ve learned to work with the hair in front of me instead of treating every head the same.

2️⃣ Healthy locs > a perfect style.
Yes, we love CLEAN parts and a 🔥 style, but the health of your scalp and locs comes FIRST. I’d rather help you build healthy, strong locs than give you a style that looks good but causes unnecessary tension or damage.

3️⃣ Patience is EVERYTHING. 🌱
Locs are truly a journey. They’re going to frizz. They’re going to change. Some will bud faster than others. And that’s okay! You have to trust the process and give your locs time to mature.

The biggest thing I’ve learned?

I really LOVE this. 🥹🔐

I started out focusing heavily on braiding, but locs have become something I genuinely enjoy learning, perfecting, and growing in.

I QUIT BRAIDING… well, kinda. 👀

And before y’all come for me, HEAR ME OUT. 😂

Braiding has been a huge part of my journey, but somewhere along the way I realized…

I fell in LOVE with doing locs. 🔐🤎

There’s just something different about taking grown-out locs, cleaning up that new growth, getting those parts CRISPY 😮‍💨 and watching the entire transformation come together.

But it’s deeper than the finished style for me.

I want to learn more about healthy loc care.
I want to perfect my craft.
I want to help people through every stage of their loc journey.
And I want to become known for LOCS. 🌱

Sometimes being an entrepreneur means realizing you don’t have to do EVERYTHING.

Sometimes you have to find your lane… and GO HARD in it.

And I think I found mine. 🔐✨

So no, I don’t hate braiding. 😂 I’m just entering my LOCTITIAN ERA.
