The night before your first GLP-1 shot, most people just stare at the pen. 💉 Here's what they wish they'd known first 👇
Search any starting-out thread and it's the same scene: script filled, box in the fridge, questions starting. A few things people wish they'd sorted earlier — simple protein-forward meals ready to go, electrolytes and fiber on hand for the early-week GI changes, and a calm read on side effects so the first rough day isn't a crisis. Needle nerves are normal; plenty of people cried before they pressed the button, then felt silly an hour later.
💬 If you've started — what do you wish you'd known on Day 1? (Not medical advice.)

85% regain the weight after a GLP-1. 📉 This post is about the other 15% — and what they do differently.
The communities don't flinch from that number; they plan around it. The published maintenance data is in the same ballpark — roughly one in six keeps most of their loss a year after stopping. Read enough of the people who hold it and the same playbook repeats: build muscle, eat enough protein, stay active, and treat the months around stopping as the real work — not the medication.
👇 What's the one habit you'd bet on for keeping it off? (Not medical advice.)
⚠️ Before posting: confirm the "~1 in 6 maintains" figure (SURMOUNT/STEP follow-up).

Nobody hands you a plan for stopping a GLP-1. 😕 Here are 4 things people wish they'd known before they came off 👉
The regain stat in #2 surprises people the most. Which one hits home for you? 💬 (Not medical advice.)
⚠️ Before posting: verify/attach the regain figure on frame 02 (STEP-1 trial extension, Wilding et al. 2022). It's stated generally on the card, so it's safe to post — just confirm the source holds.

Food noise isn't hunger. 🧠 It's the chatter that keeps going after you're full — the part no one warns you about.
For many people on or coming off a GLP-1 like Wegovy or Zepbound, the loudest change isn't the scale — it's the sudden quiet. Then, for a lot of them, the noise comes back, sometimes within days of the last dose. Naming it matters: you can be "not hungry" and still fight it all evening, because hunger and food noise don't answer to the same things.
💬 If you've been on a GLP-1 — did the food noise go quiet, and did it come back? Tell us below. (Not medical advice.)

Most people regain the majority of the weight they lost on a GLP-1 within a year of stopping.
That's not a willpower failure — it's physiology. These medications quiet appetite signaling; stopping them lets those signals drift back toward baseline, often before new habits are strong enough to hold the line.
It's the part of the conversation that tends to get skipped at the prescription pad.
The short version: the "after" deserves as much of a plan as the "during."

We treat cortisol like it's only about how stressed we feel. It does much more than that.
Cortisol's actual job is to raise blood sugar — it frees up fast fuel for a threat. Useful in a real emergency. Less useful when the "threat" is your inbox, every day, for years.
Chronically elevated cortisol raises blood glucose, blunts insulin sensitivity, and favors fat storage around the middle — and the system gets less forgiving after 40.
The stress story and the

You can do everything right with food and still wake up with your metabolism working against you.
In a now-classic study, healthy adults held to about four hours of sleep for six nights cleared glucose from their blood roughly 40% more slowly — briefly nudging them toward a pre-diabetic range. Once they slept normally again, it reversed.
Sleep isn't separate from metabolic health. It's part of the machinery.
Protect the hours. They're doing more than you think.

The 10,000-steps target you've heard your whole life came from a 1960s marketing campaign — not a lab. 👟
Here's what the research actually shows: the bulk of the longevity benefit shows up by around 7,000 steps a day, in a meta-analysis of nearly 47,000 adults. More is fine — but the threshold for "this is genuinely good for you" is lower, and more reachable, than the round number suggests.
Save this for the next time someone quotes you 10,000.
