Busy season is officially here, and appointments are going fast. Please make sure you are booking ahead of time, especially if you need evening appointments.

Most of my morning/evening spots are already booked out through the end of the year, so there is very little room to “get creative” with my schedule. As much as I wish I could magically duplicate myself, I can only take one client at a time.

I also want to kindly remind everyone to please book appointments you know you are able to keep. I completely understand that life happens, emergencies come up, and things are sometimes out of our control. But this is also my job, and I am paid by the service.

My hours are 9-5 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays. The last available appointment being 4pm so I can go home with my child by 5/5:30.

I say this with ALL the love…as a single mom, every appointment on my books matters. When a spot is canceled last minute or no showed and I can’t fill it, or if you are more than 10 mins late making it impossible to service you, that directly affects my income. Which then directly affects how I support my child, my home and my salon.

This isn’t a constant issue, and this is not directed towards any single person, but it has been becoming more of a problem. So with that being said, I will be implementing a policy again that I will absolutely hold to. If you have had 3 cancellations/no shows, a deposit paid at the time of booking your appointment for 50% of the cost of the service will have to be made. It WILL go towards your service but is non refundable on cancellations/rescheduling within 48 hours of your appointment time. I don’t want to do this, I actually HATE it!! But I have no choice.

I would also like to add cash/checks are highly preferred as credit card/paypal/Venmo fees keep rising. Every time I accept an electronic payment with cards or apps, I am charged for those transactions, I don’t charge card fees, but may be forced in order to make up for that loss as well, or do away with those forms of payment options all together,aside from deposits for appointments. That is undecided but will be posted and all will be notified if I go that route. I realize this may be an annoyance to remember to have cash/checkbook on you, I get it, with my brain-I PROMISE, I get it. But those fees really add up and it’s a punch to the gut seeing that loss at the end of the year giving these companies what I paid for/earned 😔

I like to think my prices are fair, and I have only increased them 3 times in all the years I have been doing this. I don’t add charges for gel polish on acrylics and my nail art prices are absolutely below what I should charge. I didn’t start this career to empty your wallet, I truly love my job. I just need to be able to continue doing it without these issues.

Friendly reminder to make sure you are booking your next appointment before you leave from the last, or even if you want special sets done for the holidays, book more than a week in advance. I book up really fast, and there is no wiggle room or getting creative with my schedule.

Working late for me is a very rare occurrence and hard to do with my kid.

And it kills a part of me every time I have to tell someone I don’t have anything available 🤣 because I wanna do them!! 🤣
