“You’re so lucky you can take your baby to work with you.”

Yes, I am lucky.

But no, I don’t take my baby to work with me.

Yes, I am lucky.

But I also worked for this.

This is my livelihood. It’s something I built, something I continue to work hard for, and something I care deeply about.

It’s not because I don’t want to be with her.

Actually, it’s quite the opposite.

I want to be fully present when I’m with her.

I don’t want to feel like I’m constantly splitting myself between the two. I want to be able to fully focus on my clients, my work, and the business I’ve worked so hard to build.

I want to be her mom when I’m home. I want to soak up the moments with her, be present for her, and not feel like I’m constantly trying to balance a baby while mentally thinking about my business, my clients, and the appointment experience they receive.

When I’m with her, I want to be her mom.

When I’m at work, I want to be present with whoever is in my chair and provide the undivided attention and care they deserve.

I don’t want to constantly feel like I’m splitting myself between motherhood and the salon.

My husband and I intentionally work around each other’s schedules and juggle what we can so that she can always be with one of us.

Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes.

This balance allows us both to be present for her, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So yes, I am lucky to have the option.

But for me, being a good mom doesn’t mean I have to bring my baby to work with me.

And being a business owner doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice being present with her.

For those of you who have been so flexible in working around my change of hours, I appreciate you more than you know. While yes, I can “just take the baby to work”, I intentionally choose separation. Because (mamas, you all get it)… “just take the baby to work with you” is so much easier said than done.

I’m allowed to love being a mom and love my career.

I’m allowed to be fully invested in both.

And for me, having both means creating boundaries between the two so I can be fully present in each one.

She is my purpose.
She is my dream.

But I am still allowed to have a career that is mine, too.

Hair is never just one thing.

It is shape, tone, movement, dimension, and the way every detail comes together.

The most beautiful color is often the one that does not feel overdone. Thoughtful placement. Soft contrast. A tone that complements rather than competes.

The result is hair that feels effortless, but never accidental.

Some things can’t be captured in a before and after.

Feeling understood.
Taking a moment for yourself.
Knowing every decision was made with intention.

Beautiful hair isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about enhancing what’s already there.
