In cases where you are planning a surgery and you have time to prepare, using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) before that surgical event could be very effective in reducing the healing time post surgery.

Why is that possible?

Well, imagine you are not necessarily as healthy as you could be and so you went through a round of HBOT and you started healing before the first incision was even made.

In the process of pre-treating with HBOT, you can start developing new blood vessels, reducing inflammation, mobilizing stem cells, increasing cellular energy, reducing cellular toxicity, and even start the healing process for either a week, two weeks, or even four weeks leading up to the surgery.

The result of that is certainly going to improve the post-surgical healing.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing 100% pure oxygen while in a special hyperbaric chamber. The air pressure in the chamber is raised to a level that is higher than normal air pressure.

The increased air pressure in the chamber helps the lungs collect more oxygen. Getting more oxygen to the tissues that need it can help the body heal and fight certain infections.

These chambers and the oxygen used are regulated by the FDA, and generally are a tube large enough to hold one person comfortably inside.
