When you sit in my chair, I’m looking at so much more than your inspiration photo.

I’m studying your natural growth patterns, your hairline, the direction your hair falls, your density, your existing color, and even those tiny baby hairs around your face.

Why? Because every single head of hair is different. And I believe every single color should be, too.

This gorgeous blonde is the perfect example. 😍

We wanted to keep her BRIGHT, but bring back depth, dimension, and a cooler ch*****ne finish. With her naturally fine hair, placement was EVERYTHING.

We customized her highlights, added strategically placed lowlights, softened her root, and formulated her gloss to complement both her natural color and her existing blonde.

Then we finished with a fresh trim, soft layers, and an old-school round-brush blowout for that beautiful, airy volume.

The result? A dimensional blonde that looks fuller, brighter, and EXPENSIVE. 🥂

And when I told her she looked expensive, her response was:

“YES I DO!” 😂👏🏼

Sometimes the answer to wanting your blonde to look brighter isn’t adding more blonde. 👀

When we continuously highlight the same hair, eventually we can lose the depth that made those bright pieces stand out in the first place. Everything starts blending together—and suddenly you’re very blonde, but your blonde doesn’t necessarily pop.

That’s where lowlights get their moment. 🤎

For this appointment, we took a break from the heavy foils. We added depth back in and only highlighted strategically around the front and lightly through her part line.

We didn’t get rid of her blonde.

We gave it something to contrast against.

✨ Less unnecessary lightening
✨ WAY more dimension

Sometimes giving those previously lightened pieces a break and letting your dimension live a little is exactly what your blonde needs.

Sun exposure, chlorine, lake water, heat styling, messy buns, ponytails and vacation hair can leave your ends feeling a little less than luxurious.

So consider this your reminder: September is a GREAT time for a hair reset. ✨

Think fresh trim, moisture, clarifying when needed, and a little extra TLC before we head into cooler weather.

That’s right — maternity leave is officially OVER and today is Shayla’s first official day back behind the chair!

After a summer of baby snuggles, newborn life, and becoming a mama, she’s trading the burp cloths for color bowls and making her official return to Truly Bonded. ✨

We’ve missed having both halves of Truly Bonded in the salon together, and we know so many of you have been waiting for this day too!

So welcome her back, hype her up, and maybe give her a minute to remember what day it is. She has a newborn. 😂

Did you know? Baby hair goes through its own little journey during the first year! 🤍

If your little one is losing hair, growing patchy spots, or suddenly sprouting a whole new head of hair—don't worry, it's completely normal!

✨ 0–1 month: Fine, soft newborn hair may begin to shed.
✨ 2–3 months: New hair starts replacing what fell out.
✨ 4–6 months: Hair becomes more noticeable and may begin to thicken.
✨ 6–9 months: Texture and color can start changing, and curls may appear.
✨ 9–12 months: Hair is often fuller, though it can continue changing well beyond the first birthday.

Every baby develops at their own pace, so try not to compare. Whether your little one has a full head of hair at birth or is still rocking the adorable bald look at one year, they're growing exactly as they should. 💙

So now I can give an “official” official update.

Mr. Theo made his debut into the world at 6:01pm on June 29th… 6lbs. 14oz.

Shayla and Theo are resting and recovering well!
