MLM Skincare: If sally down the street can sell you products without a clue about skincare….run. Also, If the skincare was really THAT great doctor offices and medical spas would sell it… they wouldn’t need their army cult to “hey girlie” it down our throats. Food for thought.

Celebrity Skincare: all the hype, but no real results. Unfortunately, it’s easy money for them because they can use their fame to sell subpar serums that are manufactured in your run of the mill skincare factory with little to no ground breaking technology… just basic serums with a celeb name on the label sold for a pretty penny bc they can.

DIY Skincare: baby girl…. Avocados go in your mouth not on your face. DIY skincare might seem super fun until you have a chemical burn from putting random fruits on your face. Food is for eating, not for your face.

“CLEAN” Skincare: I hate to break it to you, but you are a chemical.. *gasp* clean beauty makes me laugh so hard because they are literally fear mongering you into thinking chemicals are the devil when in reality WATER IS A CHEMICAL… ya know… H2O?! now there are toxic ingredients in the world but it’s RARE to find them in skincare products.

GIMMICKY Skincare: I know you have all seen those crazy ads while scrolling through Facebook where a girl applies a face mask on her acne and then takes it off and low and behold she has NO ACNE 🤣 it’s comical that they think people will buy into that, but the sad truth is…. People really do. When you are at your lowest point, you’ll try just about anything to clear your skin… that’s how this gimmicky skincare companies get you! It’s sad to prey on someone’s insecurities but, thats America for you. The amount of DMs I get about these miracle masks they see on Facebook that “take all your blackheads away after one use” make me sad. It’s not real.

TIKTOK Skincare: oh Lordy… you think you’ve seen it all and then you get on TIKTOK and realize there is a never ending black hole of cringey skincare advice. Remember when people were dermarolling the ordinary AHA/BHA solution into their skin… ya… wish they had a warning sign that said “do not try this at home”. Tragic.
