Hicks Manor Barbershop will be closed today, Monday December 5th and will reopen Tuesday December 6th. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Hicks Manor Barber Shop will be closed Saturday September 17 due to our participation in a fundraising event to help youth with mental illness and developmental barriers.

Thank you for understanding. We will reopen on Monday, September 19th.

Hello Customers, This would typically be the weekend we close and the barbers go to Lake Erie to fish including brother Clarence, son Randy, Nephew Roger, and even Barber Ron. We are still going to be a closin' this weekend, however, probably won't be makin' the trip North this year to catch the big ones! We have been downright tired with the number of customers comin' in this week for a cut since we opened last Friday, following our two-month close due to the pandemic. Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope you understand. Many days this week we worked straight through lunch to serve as many as we could. We need a break this weekend and will be spending some time with our families. We will reopen on Tuesday at our normal business hours. Again, sorry to be closing this weekend. However, as a reminder, we typically do close or close early on most Saturdays of holiday weekends. Have a safe, fun holiday weekend with your families, and see you Tuesday at 8:30!

Hello Customers,

It is Opening Day here at Hicks Manor! Time to stop reading our newspapers, set our feet down off the chair, and start puttin' some hair on the floor. We are open for business starting today, May15th! Come on in! Same business hours 8:30 to 6:00 weekdays and 7:30 to 3:00 Saturdays.

The shop has a new phone we set up last weekend and we must have had nearly 40 calls asking about when we're going to be open again! Wow! We called many of you back last night and will get to the rest of you today. Thank you for your patience and patronage!

We finished getting our stations and the shop ready yesterday. We will be practicin' social distancing. Never thought we would be saying social and distancing in the same sentence. We will also be doin' some extra cleanin' and sanitizin' as well throughout the days. If you can, please wear a mask in the shop, however it is not required to get yourself a cut. We will be wearing ours. We do have three chairs inside marked with a red X that your children could sit in if you need to bring the with you.

There will be a sign-in book to the right when you come in the shop. Please sign the time you arrived, your name, number, and if you are a-waitin' on a particular barber or don't mind any of us a cuttin' your hair. Unfortunately, you will have to wait outside or in your vehicle if all four chairs are full. We will wave you back in or text you if you like when you are the next one in line for a cut.

We heard from many customers that they will be at the shop this mornin' bright and early, before the cock-a-doodle-do of a rooster. So please be patient if you arrive as there may be a few customers ahead of you. Probably later mornin' or later afternoon, if you are free, would be a less busy time. We will have four barbers a goin' so should be able to get to you in a jiffy or two.

Again, thank you for your patience during these crazy times. We are glad for your calls if you need anything or need clarification on how we are having customers sign in before cuts. It is kinda like takin' a number (as we have done before at Hicks over the years when we get super busy).

Oh, one last thing, remember since you have been without a cut for couple months now, we might have to charge you double for your cut :) - haha, just joshin' ya! Same price. Same great barbers. See you soon and welcome back!

Hello Customers, We are nearly finished remodeling our backstands. It has been 52 years and we have rarely closed for remodeling! Daniel, Sam, and Elvin worked most of the day Saturday and Sunday. Even some of our customers came in to help out! Thank you to everyone! And thanks Customer Matt for your ideas and help as well! Unfortunately, we will have to stay closed one more day to finish up and clean up. So we will be closed Monday, March 2nd. However we will reopen on Tuesday March 3rd. Sorry for the inconvenience. Just finishing up a cut. Thought I would send a reminder that this Saturday, February 29th, we are closin' for a spell and fixin' to leap ahead to March. Who needs that extra day? We are doing a little renovatin' and puttin' in some different backstands that will allow our barbers to store more supplies for our customers. Sorry for this inconvenience. Please check back to see if we can get everything completed to reopen on Monday, March 2nd. if we are still a workin' we may not open until Tuesday, March 3rd at our normal business hours. Hello Customers, With the Christmas holiday bein' on a Tuesday, Hicks Manor will be cuttin' our last customer of this upcoming week on Saturday, December 22. Then we will be closed Christmas Eve to spend time with our families. We will reopen on December 26th at our normal business hours. So come and get your Christmas cuts next week! You better hurry. And remember, your barber knows if you have been bad or good!

This season, may Santa bring you some nice gifts you can share with your friendly neighborhood barber's, like some chocolates, cookies, donuts, new pair of shears, flat top combs, towels, flea and tick powder, bacon and egg biscuits (extra bacon, extra crispy, just like down home), etc. We are pretty easy to please up here at Hicks. Hello Customers,

We just wanted to keep you posted on my nephew and our barber Roger Strunk. His surgery to repair his muscle that runs from his bicep to his shoulder went well (he injured it on his vacation last month). He is on the road to a full recovery. In the mean time, he won't be a liftin' that right arm to cut Hicks Manor's famous flattops any time soon. He hopes to be back cuttin' hair sometime in November. Ron, Jim, and son, Randy will be workin' in his place until he returns.
