🎄CALLAN’S CHRISTMAS DRIVE🎄

I know I don’t do brows anymore, but still wanted to get the word out as much as I can about our fundraiser supporting the NICU at Children’s Hospital in Little Rock! When Callan was in the NICU last year we had several people help make the holidays a little more special, and we’re hoping to do the same for other families this year❤️

Hi! It’s been awhile🙃

Shade Brow Studio and all of my clients will forever hold a special place in my heart, but I have officially decided to focus solely on being Clara and Callan’s mom🤎

Callan is now 3.5 months old and is thriving at home in Fayetteville! He is the most perfect little miracle and Clara is the best big sister. His journey however began with so many unfair challenges- including two surgeries, the first at just one day old. He spent over a month recovering in the NICU in Little Rock, where Andrew and I were fortunate enough to be by his side every single day. It was heartbreaking for us to watch our baby endure so much, but those difficult moments made us reevaluate what matters most to us at this stage of our lives. I am so grateful I get to soak up these precious years with our two kids and to help push Callan to walk… and maybe even run☺️

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post. If you’re a client of mine, please read below.

Two weeks ago my husband and I went to our 20 week ultrasound and found out we’re having a beautiful baby boy🩵 Unfortunately we also got the devastating news that he has spina bifida. Spina bifida is a rare birth defect when the spine does not form correctly. Our little guy’s spine has a gap in it and the spinal cord is sticking out of his lower back with a cyst around it. All people with spina bifida are different, but it’s a possibility that his legs are paralyzed. Even if his legs aren’t fully paralyzed we expect walking will be difficult for him.

We’ve already seen one specialist and will be heading to Houston next week to see our full team of doctors. I will then have in-utero surgery and will be on bed rest for at least one month, but possibly until delivery. We are also not sure that we will be able to come home after surgery, and will possibly be relocating to Houston until delivery as well.

Under these new circumstances, I have decided to step away from work until he is born and will reevaluate at a later time if I will return to work at all. The future is very unknown and I cannot promise that I will or will not continue to do permanent makeup. This answer will be based on the severity of his disability, surgeries after he’s born, etc. Andrew and I have always been planners, but in this stage of our lives we just have to trust that God has a plan and take it one day at a time.

This is not the way I saw myself possibly ending Shade Brow Studio. I will be forever thankful for my amazing clients who have shown me so much love and support since the beginning. I will post any updates here on the possibility of me returning in the future.

In the mean time, please say a prayer for our little guy.
