My baby almost isn’t a baby anymore. Today, Highground turns two. I feel like it’s probably the same way it is with pets, like businesses are actually seven years old for every human one year. It almost feels like it’s been seven years in the last year, haha

The thing I kept saying over and over again was that 2020 was wild y’all, and it was. So was 2021 and so is 2022. I think that’s what I’m realizing now, s**t just stays wild and along the way you find people to help you handle the wildness of life.

has been such a rock for me through their year and a half with us. Helping us grow and evolve and taking all of their knowledge to get us where we want to be. Finn, you’re an angel. I couldn’t imagine this without you.

has known me longer than anyone at Highground. We have experienced a lot together, both good and bad she helps to hold me down when I start to worry or think that I am falling into old patterns. She reminds me of all of the growth I’ve heard not only as a business owner, a stylist, a mentor but also as a person.

I’m so excited for us to be in the bigger space this year! We are having some of our amazing friends and neighbors with us and I couldn’t be more grateful. will be there along with many more.

When people sit in my chair, the question I always ask is “who do you wanna be?”

It’s interesting to see the ways in which people respond, and maybe I’m just feeling really sentimental right now, but it’s having me think about who I want to be.

I want to be kind. I want to be funny. I want to be open and safe and caring and genuinely interested. I want to be sensitive and generous. I want to take chances and be trusting.

I think what I’m saying is I want to be a combination of all of you—all the people I get to spend my time with every day.
