HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY to the reason.

The reason I started this career in the first place.

This is Oakley, my 10 year old son.

The story I’m proud to tell over and over again to anyone who asks how I started doing hair…I wanted to provide for my son.

I was a young single mom to a 1 year old and wanted a job that would eventually provide a flexible schedule that would allow me to be the mom I wanted to be..a present one.

His biological dad was never in the picture, my husband, Tyler, didn’t come along til 5 years later.

It was just the two of us, growing together. I couldn’t handle the thought of him going to a sport game and looking to the side lines and not seeing a parent cheering him on.

I always loved art, taking something and making it something else. I’ve always loved people and building new relationships so somewhere along the way I thought I could be good at marrying the two together.

I did my time with women’s hair and later, to my surprise, found that I enjoyed men’s cuts more.

Here we are now, I’ve found my favorite job that supports my favorite people.

We finally made it Oaks, and you were the reason that started it all. Happy Birthday my sweet boy, thank you for everything you’ve taught me and for being my motivation.
