What’s is the one hobby that makes you feel alive?
How many times have you heard this as an OT? 🤣
Wearing a cardiac monitor for 5 days wasn’t about “being anxious” or “overthinking symptoms.”
It was about listening to my body.
Many people with fibromyalgia and autonomic nervous system dysfunction experience symptoms like:
• palpitations
• dizziness
• chest discomfort
• rapid heart rate
• fatigue
• shortness of breath
• “fight or flight” sensations even at rest
A cardiac monitor helps doctors look for rhythm changes, heart rate patterns, and possible arrhythmias that may not show up during a short office visit or ECG.
This doesn’t mean every symptom is dangerous.
But it DOES mean symptoms deserve to be evaluated, not dismissed.
Fibromyalgia is more than pain.
For many patients, the nervous system and cardiovascular system can also be involved.
Still searching for answers. Still learning. Still advocating for myself.
