Fort Wayne MFR LLC
Hi! I’m Anna Bear and I help you find relief from chronic and complex pain. Even if you've "always" had a degree of pain. Even if it is "unexplainable".
Even if you have "tried everything". I'm committed to finding relief for you, as long as you are!
Aim for 12 hugs a day that last 20 seconds each. More is better. See what happens to your nervous system when you hit this recommendation and beyond.
Hugs teach our body that we are safe.
Let me know what you find!
The stories we tell ourselves matter. Our bodies listen.
I was working with someone, and I realized that I hadn’t felt the fascial restrictions soften—even after a hold of at least five minutes, which is when I usually feel something.
So I described the feeling of the softening, which is like butter warming up or taffy getting soft, and I asked my client to imagine the fascia doing that.
Almost instantly, I felt the releases under my hands, and I saw my client smile. We had both felt it.
Fascia carries information through our body at a speed that far surpasses the speed of the neural signals our brain sends.
But our active thoughts—the stories we tell—can be carried in our fascia.
How we interpret an experience matters.
If we call something traumatic, the body responds as if it were. If we say something is safe or manageable, the body responds as if it were.
That’s why the same event might traumatize one person but not another.
But that's not a predetermined thing. It's a choice.
We can rewrite the stories that live in our tissues.
Not all at once—not by forcing ourselves to go from “That was horrible” to “That was beautiful.”
But slowly. Thought by thought.
Sometimes the first new story is as simple as: “I survived.”
What change are you going to make to the story you tell?
This is MFR rebounding
Let me know in the comments if you try it with your friends and family!
With the MFR view of the body, every cell of our body holds memory, emotion, and even consciousness.
Because of this, it is normal for emotions or memories to come up during a session.
But during MFR, these memories and emotions don't just come up to agitate or traumatize you. They come up in a way that makes it easier for you to let go of them. They are emotions and memories that have become trapped in your body, causing pain and dysfunction.
That is why after a session your sore shoulder feels better, but also you're able to shift the intrusive, ruminating thought into something more hopeful and bright.
What would you do with that kind of relief?

“The gurgley tummy phenomenon”
This happens a lot, and is completely normal, and even a good sign, so I want to address it: during a session, maybe we started chatting, and you got more relaxed. The conversation trailed off. And then…. guRGLE! Your stomachs starts growling. And it doesn’t stop!
You can apologize if you feel like it, but for me, it’s a good sign!
Let me explain what is happening.
Our nervous system has two parts. One is the sympathetic nervous system. When this is activated, we are in “fight, flight, freeze,” mode. Adrenaline and cortisol are giving our bodies the strength to run away from a tiger.
The other side is the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the “rest and digest” system. When this is activated, our bodies feel safe enough to shunt energy and attention to life giving, healing, slow jobs. Our body believes we don’t need to be on high alert to run away to save our life, so it is ready to take the time to devote energy to digestion.
So your tummy gurgles.
It’s not necessarily because you skipped a meal, or just ate, or ate something that disagreed with you.
Your digestive system feels safe. So it decided to start working.
Also, if I am working around hips or abdomen, I may have released restrictions around all the internal digestive organs, giving them the space and freedom to start functioning at a higher capacity.
So, if you’ve ever experienced a gurgly tummy during a session with me: you’re not alone!
Invisible illnesses are hard. Some days, you work as hard as you can and at the end of the day, you've breathed, eaten something, taken your meds, and used the bathroom. I've been there. I get it. Hang in there. There's hope.

How many sessions will it take?
The answer is: More than one.
You might feel great after your first session, but healing is a process. Frequently, there are years and years of restrictions and holding patterns to work through.
Consistency, especially at the beginning of this healing journey will help you collapse the time it take to heal. MFR interrupts your body’s old holding patterns that helped you survive for a time but now are causing pain. When you schedule your first sessions close together, it gives your body less time to go back to the old stuck patterns.
When you’re ready to feel great in your body, don’t wait!
