Capturing the client’s mapped shape accurately during the initial outline is one of the most critical steps in a lip blush service. In this shot, I’ve outlined a section of the lip and am applying secondary numbing with a microbrush. Swabbing the area allows me to check pigment retention and ensure my hand pressure and depth are dialed in correctly. The goal for this initial pass is a crisp yet soft, delicate line—one that clearly preserves the custom map to guide the session, while seamlessly blending with the rest of the shaded lip blush for a smooth, natural healed finish. 💋✨

In fact, mapping is one of the most important steps of the entire procedure.

Before I ever pick up my machine, I spend time carefully analyzing the lips, identifying asymmetries, evaluating facial balance, and designing a shape that complements my client's natural features. A beautiful healed result begins with a thoughtful foundation.

Many clients come in with natural asymmetries, uneven borders, or areas where the lip line has softened over time. While no set of lips is perfectly symmetrical, meticulous mapping allows me to create better balance, improve definition, and enhance the overall shape in a way that still looks natural.

This is not a step I rush through.

The more precise the mapping, the more beautiful the final result. Every curve, peak, and border is intentionally designed before the procedure begins because once pigment is implanted, the shape matters just as much as the color.

This beautiful client came to me with previous permanent makeup that had faded over time, leaving behind a strong titanium dioxide cast and a loss of the rich red brick color she originally loved. Her goal was to restore that warmth and depth while still creating a result that would heal beautifully on mature skin.

Using carefully selected Pure Hue pigments, we were able to bring back that classic red brick tone she was looking for. ❤️

Cases like this require a completely different approach than working on virgin lips. Cover-ups and color corrections can be unpredictable, especially when previous pigment, titanium dioxide, and mature skin are involved. 2-3 sessions are often needed to gradually achieve the desired result safely and effectively.

Every set of lips tells a story, and sometimes restoration is just as important as enhancement.
