HBFS† Hair By Slay

Everyone thinks “lighter” is what makes hair look expensive.

It isn’t. Depth is.

When your brunette has contrast, shine, and intentional placement, it catches light in a way flat color never will.

With that being said.. I don’t reach for bleach just because I can.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to make your hair lighter.

It’s to make it look richer.

This is proof that expensive-looking hair isn’t always blonde.

Sometimes it’s brunette done right.

I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about how much has changed behind the scenes.

Most people see the finished hair.
They don’t see the hours spent rebuilding HBFS† into something that actually feels like me.

There were a lot of moments where it would’ve been easier to sit still.

✨Keep the same branding.
✨Keep the same services.
✨Keep doing what was comfortable.

Instead, I started over.

🖤New education.
🖤New services.
🖤New systems.
🖤A new website (every week bc I’m a MySpace kid)
🖤A completely different vision for what sitting in my chair should feel like.

Every change was made because I knew where I wanted HBFS† to go, even if I couldn’t see exactly how I’d get there yet.

Yesterday, I walked into the space where all of that finally starts coming together.

It’s still empty.

Concrete floors.
Bare walls.
Nothing fancy yet.

But for the first time in a long time, it feels like everything is headed in the right direction.

This isn’t a “look how far I’ve come” post.

It’s a thank you.

Because every appointment you’ve booked, every referral you’ve sent, every post you’ve shared, every time you’ve trusted me with your hair… you’ve been building this right alongside me.

I can’t wait to show you what HBFS† looks like next.
